Illegal? That's not a word in the vocabulary of the RTO department here in UP. Anything that you want to get approved can be approved here, albeit for a small chai-paani charge!

Boss bangy mein its impossible to do this .. First mention of zen and esteem engine in the same sentence at the RTO one will be put behind bars .. With all the street racing happening around , the cops and the RTO guys are keeping their eyes wide open .. Huge raids happening on MG.Roads and Cubbon Roads on saturday nights on the look out for ANY modded cars .. The bangalore police is cracking down big time on this scene .. Also with lokayukta acting very efficiently , bribes at RTO seemingly are being unheard off .. This is the news going around after the recent raids ..

And i know quite a few people (mostly with indias fastest e-zens) who have the money to splurge on their cars but still havent gotten around to register it at the RTO (and i know they would like to make it legal , but wonder why).. Easier way as pointed out earlier is punching the engine number onto the new block (though thats certainly illegal) ..

That besides its a little hard to figure out the engine swap for a local cop .. Also punching numbers these days has become such a professional job that its difficult to tell which engine the car actually came with ..

well there are people who stamp the same number of the old engine on the new one...i have seen some one who has done this...i think with a e-zen its easier to get unoticed because the g13b almost looks similar like the 1ltr.

The Toyota 1n is an older technology diesel engine. We are talking about hi performance engine transplants.

Err-Revv
Rotary engines never made it to production cars..!! I am beginning to wonder!
