The wagon R used to come with a 1.1L engine.. i guess there should be no problems considering that there are Alto's running with the 1.3 Twin cams now.

Hey Guys,
I was wondering, what engine would be the best compromise between power and balance (handling).
What I mean is that, will the bigger engines like the Baleno's be too heavy at the front?
If the car was not going to be used for staight line drags but on mountaineous twisty roads???

Any inputs.

B.T.W. Is it possible to get a 1.3 twin cam MPFI HEAD??

You can get the 1.3L twin cam head. But getting the ECU and the wiring harness is the problem. From what I have seen most of them run carbs on this engine.

I don't know about the wiring but.... Won't a Standalone work as well as an ECU? Or is the ECU needed too?

I've read in the Forum somewhere that the GTi head can handle more stress levels like if going for FI and availability of aftermarket performance parts.

As the name refers standalone does the work alone. Doesn't need the OE ECU. Yes, the GT internals are stronger and availability of performance parts are a plenty. Infact I know someone who has two GT engines in excellent condition for sale.

How much Bhp does the Gti engine produce in stock form?

Any complications in servicing a DOHC over SOHC?
Will the Zen gearbox, clutch be able to handle the GTi engine? Or will they be needed to be replaced with stonger (better) ones?

100 bhp. Not much in terms of complications. You can use the Esteem box etc.

Since we are on topic of eZens.. not trying to get an infraction here however... cousin is selling his. Its a Esteem engine running on carbs.

Like I said in another post.. can take on a stock baleno with ease.
another friend tried this GTi engine from bangkok on his Alto and he had issues with power steering and engine chugging at times. Dont ask me who the tuner was .. someone in jayanagar, blr.

Is the Gti engine more sensitive to change in quality of fuel?
Taking quality of fuel into consideration, will Bhp decrease?
Will we need to change the driveshaft?

Is LSD possible on a Zen? (LSD = Limited slip differential) again.

No the engine is not sensitive to fuel, I mean all engines are. But the GT engine will work on 87Oct as well, depends on whether you are bumping up the CR or not. No the stock zen driveshafts can handle it. And no, I am yet to see anyone use a LSD on the zen.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/282552-post167.html

can someone re-quote the above post as its a bit old. And what if I am to go ahead with carb instead of mpfi and 1.3l still costs 50k?
