Default my ezen

a thanks to rahul for coming with me all the way to chennai and driving back then countless times to the garage to pick up and drop the car thanks.

also a thanks to scan for getting me this car.

all started when i was on a budget build some time back for college bike was ruled out since the roads were not safe and were laden with trucks.so decided to get a zen then upon a lot of thinking and speaking to a lot of people decided to get a ezen.

the initial plan was to go 16v carb but later due to mileage part of it deiced to go fuel injected.then the search started to get the car.

i was told of a tn zen which was up for sale and which was not yet painted so could get any color i wanted so got black if i am right got 10 coats of dupont.

so bought the zen but then the owner had problem of transportation here so rahul and me went to chennai to get the car.

a surprise when i went there was noticed a body kit on the car was sure a surprise and i liked the body kit to.

upon getting it the build started the the engine went in then small problems like fueling etc crept in which kept halting the car.also the sensor problems like one sensor broke and had to wait to get one.

then when i drove it with the car i was awestruck with the power and torque.

well some specs.
esteem engine.
fully rebuild
zen gear box (shorter ratio)
fuel injected
type 1 brakes with brake booster.
stiffened suspension

a cam (dont know the spec but its bigger and so much better than the esteems).

a air filter much bigger than a k&n and so much better no clue as to which filter it is since imported so to avoid customs the name tags and boxes were removed.

planned upgrades:
getting it to square engine.
twin cam conversion(some time soon)
some tires and rims
interior work (going on).
and some time soon a turbo.

Congrats pawan. Nice one and good to know she is rolling now. Its been 3 good months since I saw it last at the apartment parking.

Get some better rubber and you are ready to tango.

Honestly one of the best body kits I have ever seen on a zen. Nice paint job and the finish of the body kit is perfect. Good one mate. Drive safe.

That's a 1996 model zen. I hope you paid the right price for it. Does the RC have the new engine endorsement ? please make sure you have got everything right before you take it on the road. You guys came to chennai for a car & did not meet any chennai bhpians ?

Why do you want a turbo? Your car is already over-powered and I think turbo will only bring down the life of your engine. Besides, it can be messed up and you may end up paying through your nose.

Did you get a new Esteem engine? If used, any idea how many kms it has done?

thanks guys.
@rj planning tires soon but no clue as to which one .
@el
yup its a 96.
we wanted to meet you guys but were on a tight schedule so coudnt.
i cant register it with the esteem engine since the rules cant allow me to.the company has to stop producing spares or something like that.
how did you make out you sure are damm good at it.

@rks

i got the engine from chennai and was rebuild with all new parts.
a brand new esteem engine costs some odd 4lakhs from maruti.
no clue as to how many kms it originally ran.

Firstly the car is really sweet to look at. I have had the chance to oogle at it for quite a while. The swap has been just completed and small niggles are being sorted out as we speak. I shall put up a detailed report on the car once I feel its 100% complete and I can clock some miles on it.

Pawan congrats for the ride. And take good care of her. Are you taking her out on the maiden TBHP drive this Saturday?

John, we are extremely sorry. We arrived in Chennai one evening and had to leave the very same night.

surely.

@redeye,
thanks man.the car was done done scan and sean.

the swap was worked on as a package so the cost details and a little vary since a lot of parts were bought and sold during that period so costs vary slightly.
will put up a detailed report soon.

a video of my intake:
