Default Automech or Viper

hello guys,
i need a bit of help and not controversy. i wanna put a F.F.E on my car...ALTO 800 , 47 horses..... spoke with both the guys Automech and Viper...

Automech has kit ready for Alto, a pre designed and proven one with many options low, mid, high range performances.....

Viper says he doesnt have the kit ready ..he will design while fitting it on my car itself as the jigs arent pre designed....

under these situations please suggest me where shall i drop in...i have to drive from pune to mumbai...i cannot take a risk of rework or so at any cost....i want one shot perfect work done....

also cost of automech < cost of Viper

Well, either of them have their bunch of satisfied customers. But their business model is different; Auto Mech make and fit the exhausts themselves while Viper outsources it to someone else.

Go ahead with whoever you are more comfortable with.

Automech is one shot readymade stuff. Viper's is a bit more like custom made.
You may sit, discuss and decide what suits you best with Viper. Dunno if that can be done with Automech. Both are good and performs well and even the build quality is good.

As You've already spoken to both, I think they're the best to know about the pricing too. Should be around 6-7k for the kit I think.

I agree with speedzak. If you know what you want and then want to get the required performance (Bottom-mid-top) and in which permutation and combination then Viper is your guy.

Automech have been in the exhaust business since donkey's years. So also is Viper's guy. I know for sure that Automech make exhausts as per the general requirement. They do not and will not make a one off exhaust specially for you (unless you know them very very very well and you can emotionally blackmail him - to be read as he will not do it). So if you are looking at enhancing the performance at a specific range or ranges then its best to get your exhaust custom made and thats when Viper Performance comes in.
Both have a long list of installs and both are reliable and perform well. One coats the headers with an Aluminium alloy and the other gives you ceramic coated headers. If you want Satinless steel headers then I think Viper will be cheaper as for a one off job, Automech may be more expensive.. I think. TAlk to both about what you want and then take your decision acordingly. IMHO both are equally good

Every car (well, almost every new generation cars) has it there and those thingys will be retained.

I dont know how good Automech is now ...
I had a bad experience with Automech 3-4 yrs ago. I had ordered a complete exhaust system from them for my MPFI M800 from headers to the muffler.
The quality of the product was pathetic, the inner surface of the headers were not even surfaced properly , I could see the the unfinished welds sticking into the inner dia of the headers...where the flanges are connected to the header tubes... the headers are supposed to have a smooth inner surface and not stuff jutting out into it..
Anyways, after fitting it to the car there was no change in low end torque neither top end .. even the exhaust note was muffled... it felt like a stock exhaust and sounded like a damaged stock muffler.
The headers had some kind of a coating .. and I'm not sure if coating(considering the coating material used) is a really a good idea as its not going to help so much in keeping under hood temps down as compared to stopping the headers from cooling down.
I just returned it...

Yes they do as explained by Zak and Dragger. You can see it partly though in my car in the pic below.

great to see that they retain the sensor. i really wonder whether my header will be visible in my alto. its so cramped and below in the gap behind the radiator.
i think its a ceramic coat right? i had heard that automech do aluminim coat?

Yes, the Alto's engine bay is a tad tight but a custom exhaust fits in nicely. Plus, the radiator is off to one-side in the Alto, on the passenger side, while the block is on the driver's side. So clearance is not as bad as one would think it would be.

I have a custom exhaust in my Alto (Electra Performance), seemed a tad expensive at first, but the increase in performance & the sound (nay, music) makes it all worthwhile
