This is what I think one should be doing looking for boosting..

Well ya ideally if one is looking for around 200-220hp can go for a mild boost about 15-20 psi via remap with intake and exhaust so one can safely have about 190 even after rise in temp ..may be the power would be consistent.

Anything more then that can go new turbo K04-1 with new ported manifold prefreably, remap of 18-21 psi, FMIC, new downpipe, injectors, fuel regulator, intake and exhaust.. can expect about 240-260bhp consistent power.. anything beyond that custom turbokit are must.. inluding all other modififcation to clutch, suspension, brakes, upsize tires, may be source a 6 speed gearbox with LSD too.. retaining the internals can upto 320-340hp.. beyond that get new pistons, valce, conrods and bring down compression level.

What most people do is strain the OE turbo with boost which goes beyond 20psi+ and in return the OE turbo K03/ K03s is not able to sustain that boost through out the rev band once the temperature rises.. in return one start facing lack of power after a certain time of drive or in the long run.

K04-1 turbos ideally can be installed with stock manifold but may need a new down pipe and you can get one for around 1000-1500$ or about 800 pounds or so over the net plus the freight and duties.

Heard you made his day !

I'm looking forward to his fitting the new brakes.

Drove the beast during the last meet. It's @&$^@#& scary! Specially so in city traffic and due to the inadequate brakes.

Shuvd must be very happy with you Ishan - you did a great job man! cheers:

as for the brake upgrade - its just a matter of time. since the vRS alloys are with him - he just needs to source new shoes and thats it. i guess after that the brake upgrade will be done.

Thanks to Dhanno's driver, I got the RS alloys at a SWEEET price!!cheers:
Also, many thanks to Autokustomz!

@ Ishan - I decided to get the wheels couriered. They should be delivered in a while. The Spice people weren't too helpful about packing shaking.

But, the good news ends here. My turbo gasket is blown. Car now sounds like those old diesel generators. Should be getting a new gasket and OE bolts from Pete's soon. But, getting the same properly installed is going to be TOUGH!

Thats true with respect to Rider diesel. For 1.8Tpi , its all round disc.

arey dont worry yaar! just keep your fingers crossed. I am sure it will be taken care of. you changed the turbo gasket last time as well?? ask Peter to send another set as well - just in case. i am sure Suman(Shazid) is good at it...one of your friends (Sunny) has switched to him as well for getting his / his customers' works done. Shazid's father was one of the best during their time.

Good to see you guys happy! And a special thanks to Gaurav aka Autokustomz for the outstanding deal!

So, any progress on the tyres or need some help on that too??

P.S. And as Shuv might clarify, I do not deal in wheels or tyres!

Those rims are really beautiful. Are you planning on getting the RS front bumper too?

I don't think he'll do that. That's the first warning his car dealer told him before buying the TPi else he would have gone for the RS.

Update:

the work was delayed because shuvd injured himself (sprained his ankle). got a call from him.

the turbo gasket and worn out bolts (sent by Peter two weeks back) have been replaced and SB is back on the road. the work was carried out at a Garage who used to / still tune rally cars.

all the best SB - good to have you back with us. i am sure shuvd will take very good care of you and he will not go over 2.5K RPM & maintain 60KPH - i am out of this thread now
