144 bhp at the wheels would be 180 at the crank taking a 20% loss. Dosent the remap offer 180 bhp at the crank. Them the figures seen find to me. Dont know about the flat spots though.

i am NOT interested in chasing xxx BHP/HP. I am not going to try and get the ideal HP vs RPM line .

the correct way to use a dyno would have a before and after run , but that was not possible .

Thats what I call a great and right attitude, rather than ponder over and dissect a situation which in the first place never arose.
Monkey, you have an attitude of a winner and as long as you are satisfied, well thats what matters.
I do agree that there are flat spots which the tuner (Petes, or his team) will figure out and will do a great job of it too, im sure.
Meanwhile Monkey, enjoy your car, 144bhp-164bhp...whatever. It at least makes you smile.

Absolute, as opposed to relative, in other words, BEFORE and AFTER of the SAME car with ALL other variables held constant.

This is another thread without any real value. There's someone here who's converting HP to BHP with some silly conversion factor.

I'll tell you what the conversion factor is. Its HP = BHP * 1.00000000 . Ok?

I have a stock RS. All I have had done to it since I bought it one oil change (to Mobil 1) and a tyre rotation at 10K. It has about 20 odd K on the odo. oh yes it survived 26/7 (I was stuck and being driven in the RS in the flood) and another thing I dont drive it. :-) *I can see KS throwing his spanner at me*

You can use it for reference. If you want to service/tune/decarb it go ahead it needs a service and tuning anyway. MM knows how to contact me.

Rgds,

hey man , you really should PUSH and i mean PUSH your customers to dyno ing their cars before you do your stuff to it.
Should make YOU a happier man too man plus then no one would be perplexed and discussing this ,.
cheers man

PS : did you do a 30 PSI RS ? very highly curious man.

Oh man so many words..so lil action. Just go get us the AFR/REV RANGE info if you want a QUICKER car or just keep smiling about the power it already makes you FEEL! Both ways you'd be the one smiling... If youre happy now, no sense of this thread now.. unless someone smart throws in another dynoed RS chart with lesser tuning but oddly high bhp figures

My opinion, Four Seasons whereever you are, please try and get yourself a nice Gtech pro and not a dyno (unless theres loads of money in the business) and do a run before the install and one after for approximate gain information. Cya!

4 seasons dont have a dyno man ! and they have access to a GTech pro when required.
KS does have a dyno ,for public use , the only in this fair city !

Umm.. I dunno, if I sounded too complicated on the last post?
I'm pretty sure I meant that, if 4 SEASONS could AFFORD it, then they should get one. If not, then use the Gtech pro, before and after the run.. Merci beaucoup.

sorry about that : ] as far i know they definitely dont intend on hooking themselves up with a dyno. No room anyways.

Everybody who can afford it just head to KS's place before & after the fun : PLEASE.

Correct Ananth. But the dyno wasn't available at the time of the remap, while we can safely assume that the stock RS churns out atleast 150 BHP (not at the wheels). The reason this thread came up is because the remapped numbers were expected to be higher than 144 at the wheels. I guess the only way to sort this out is have Navins / another stock RS run on the dyno.

Till that is done someone can look around on VW vortex forums for a dyno test of a stock Volkswagen Gti/Jetta/Audi A4 1.8t sold here in the US. Its the same engine with the same K03 turbocharger. They came with 180 HP stock so I am assuming the remap offered by Pete's atleast partially mirrors that tune.
