Dug a bit deeper...

So OBD -II seems to have further "dialects" and need to find which one Suzuki likes in India.

Found these protocols that run on OBD-II port :

J1850 PWM
J1850 VPW
ISO9141/14230
ISO15765 (CAN)

Bought an OBD II unit and had to sell it off. Tested it in my Swift, friend's swift, alto zen and Esteem.
Connector that you bought, was it a multi-protocol connector? If not, which protocol did it support?

Some info:

J1850 VPW--The connector should have metallic contacts in pins 2, 4, 5, and 16, but not 10.
ISO 9141-2--The connector should have metallic contacts in pins 4, 5, 7, 15, and 16.
J1850 PWM--The connector should have metallic contacts in pins 2, 4, 5, 10, and 16.
Interesting project for coming weekend for me Need to figure out where is OBD - II connector in Alto and what is the pin layout.
