I wish I had access to paint so that I could circle it. A pilot light is also called a parking light and is the dim light that turns on in the headlight when you turn the lights on to the first position. Other people can see the car but it doesnt provide any lighting. The post 2001 Santros had a different headlight assembly where the pilot light or parking light was in another enclosure.

Thanks for the detailed info about pilot light (parking light)

we already thought of it but the conclusion was that only small projectors will fit and it wont cover the road

Mr Yayaati. As far as I know projector headlamps / angel eyes lamps are available only for Swift, Lancer and Civic---three most customisation friendly cars that are preferred buys of youngsters today. Youngsters pick up a Swift or a Civic depending on their budget and customise it----limits of customisation being directly proportional to the depths of one's pockets. Alternatively, some pick up a good used Lancer as a blank canvas and start work on it. But one thing for sure, Lancer beats even Swift and Civic on customisation front. It is the first name that comes to mind when one speaks of customisation with vast array of stuff being available for Lancer.

A guy I know is so crazy about projector lamps that after having failed to get one for his Wagon R, he is considering buying a used Lancer just for those lamps. My suggestion, if you are also as serious as him, you might as well consider picking a used Lancer and then why just projector lamps, you can add a host of goodies.

Source individual double-beam projectors from Europe/Australia/Japan - Hella sells them off-the-shelf in these places

Either that, or if you know a Swift/Lancer/Civic with the aftermarket projectors setups totalled, you could salvage from them. But these would be mainly single-beam projectors.

You'll then have to mount the projectors manually at the center of the stock reflectors - play around with the positioning till you're satisfied with the beam throw and spread.

@ Mr pgsagar i own a swift and have projector on it as they were available , well my friend has a santro and we are building the projectors lights. If some one failed does not mean that we will to.

@theMAG: we have tried with projectors from a totaled swift light but the only concern is the high beam as you said... so we are planning something different.

I too installed projectors in my fiesta. These are W211 projectors. Just opened the headlamps, cut the reflectors, set the right angle, screwed the projectors on the plastic (casing) body. I did not have to do any such finishing as I had the decorative cover (outer ring) too.

Thumbs up Where does one get HIDs and projector kits

Where does one get HIDs and projector kits for the Swift and Lancer. I wondered if we can get the 3 headlamp kit for lancer similar to the one in Lancer Evo 9. Post pictures if possible of how it would look !
