BALENO ..Now With K&N Performance Filter - Team-BHP

After Reading a lot about the K&N filters on the forum I was doubtful about replacing my Air filter(MIXED REACTIONS dust ,hot air. etc...)and then Finally I got the K&N filter ON.
And I Must say the car rocks now. The sound is not that loud (may be cause of noise reduction system i guess) but its like music. The car is much quicker . I am enjoying every bit of it.

Recently I got the aluminum rings installed on my wheels (Thanks To Team BHP ) after which the steering vibration is vanished totally , It infact improved braking amazingly , last sunday I went to Mandya CCD to check the cars performance on highway,......It rocks ..pickup improved a lot, engine was doing its job with Ease, And the because of aluminum rings,the handling of the car changed totally, The car is balanced ,I did cornering at 120Kph and no problem. Its super stable.Improved Braking means More confident i am at high speeds.

I was constantly driving at a speed of 100 and 135Kmph and mostly on 3rd gear. Got the mileage of 12kmpl.

You mean to say hub rings right? where did you get them fixed?

ya hub rings. I got it at lalbagh road, contact pitstop opposite lifestyle, he gave me the address of this guy.

What has been the difference. IS there a shift in power delivery. I mean does the car deliver power only at slightly higher rpms now

Spider what kinda filter did you install in the car? Also regarding the hub rings, where and how is it placed ?
I remember having read about this in the Baleno Wheel Thread but no pics to support the installation. What about the costs involved in the hub rings install?

I have installed conical universal filter K&N.it costed me 300 per ring .Total 1200 fr rings and then i got balancing and alignment.I got the rings made, it took nearly half a day .

Benefits :
My steering use to vibrate at high speeds specially at 130kmph, Braking was very week .overall highspeed drive use to be very nervous.
Now: there is no vibration at any speed , steering is much hard and sharp. Braking is so powerful now.we have to use emergency braking as a cyclist was crossing the road in highway .we must be at 100 speed overtaking a truck and we had to apply brakes , the car stopped without skidding, thanks to tyres(yokos) as well, This incident was really tight as we just pressed the accelerator and then brakes ...the car stopped comfortably.

K&N filter: I dint feel any power drop in low rpm.which generally people face after installing the filter. the car is much quicker now.

Congrats!! K&N is a good modification.

I have also got a K&N stock replacement filter. I face the issue of steering and accelarator vibrating at high speed. It is not a wheel allignment/ balancing issue.

I am wondering whether the hub rings will solve the issue? Can you please post directions to this place in Lalbagh or their address/ phone number?

I googled and found that it is used only for aftermarket wheels. My alloys came from the manufacturer and I think these rings are not applicable.

Apparently I have never found such an issue with my cars wheels. I have swapped 2 sets of alloys and never faced any steering wheel vibration or braking issues as mentioned by spider.

Am sure atleast 80%(?) of us here are running the alloys without hub rings. So whats the implication here ?

1- Install only if you have steering wheel vibration and how does this help in improving braking.I cant seem to fathom this.
2- Is it a must for all cars with after market alloys ?
