Default Gypsy and Sunroof fitment

Hi

I have decided to redo my hard top gyspy on lines on suzuki jimmy a modded one whose pic i captured on my recent visit to bangkok.

Since my gypsy has a A/C and also since i often visit forest for plant and animal photography i was planning to install a sunroof to stand up and click pics

i do no wnat an electronic one and i am considering manual. I want to ask a few questions

1>Can i design some wokable solution myself where i cut a proportiantae hole in the top and sandwich a sliding metal or glass or plastic frame inside

2>Do i get a sunroof from CST (mumbaikars will know) and get it fitted

3>Do i go the expensive way to professional

4>The whole idea of mine is stupid enough and i should not waste my time considering a sunroof

I am converting my gyspy to two seater module with the cabin pack going atleast 1/6 way as opposed to normal 2seaters.

Hope u guys can input me on this

Thanks in advance

Gypsy status: Work Already started today. so quick inputs are fine

The problem I see in DIY is proper sealing between the roof metal & the sunroof beading. A lot of professionally fitted sunroof's (like the RS's for instance) have had problems reported with water leaking into the cabin during rains. So unless you or your mechanic know in depth about this & have experience doing these kind of installations, I would stay away from DIY.

A professional job would be better but much more expensive.

Go for the fabric roof. Webasto has this type too.
