@ our very own tuners: please provide me some information regarding this matter. Our requirements are:
1. Engine needs to be a daily driver. No stalling, idling issues or overheating or the need to push it to start up etc etc (He just became a father and my nephew is only 3 months old),
2. No turbo at all. My brother wants to keep it NA and avoid any complications in the future.
3. Supply of necessary parts and service and support later on.
4. Price of the package : Engine, trans, wiring harness, A/C unit if possible.
5. Are these JDM engines new or rebuilt?

Please provide an estimate and any suggestions other wise..

Thanks
JRD.
JDM engines are not rebuilt, they are used engines from japan.

Are you doing the swap in india or SFO?

Since the base car is an OHC 1.3, I think the swap is happening here.

@ iceman: you read my mind.. installing it would be a new set of issues.

since your budget is 100k i suggest you go with a d16x series swap since i was told by a reputable tuner that these engines was available for pretty cheap in india it self a good 100-130 bhp.

Default Engine swap for an OHC Type 2

Hello fellow bhpians!
I've been thinking very hard about buying a cheap OHC 1.3, and doing an engine swap (Honda B16A/B, Honda B18C engine), like what Ford Rocam and others have done (My B16 City Review - behind the scene). Firstly, I'd like to know if it's possible to import the engine from elsewhere myself. There are a bunch of shops/sites selling JDM/USDM engines from where I can buy. Would I have problems getting it through customs? Or would it be easier/cheaper/both to get some modding shop importing the engine for me? Secondly, any modding shops/enthusiasts in Mumbai that can help me out with the swap and wouldn't mind explaining everything to a newbie like me? I'm just getting into modding cars and would like someone else to do it rather than me wasting the engine/car. Any tips for any part of the process (seller review, things to watch out for, dos/donts, customs info, actual swap) are welcomed. Thanks for reading! cheers:

Pranav.

You wanna swap..you can go with the indian VTEC..if possible try keeping your tranny for sure..And your investment amount keeps the B16 at bay...don't get into the ocean unless you are absolutely sure that there aren't sharks in the water. Stick to a single cam..Go Vtec on a 1.3..thats fun too. Or else just pop in the indian spec VTEC and thats good enough. Just make sure the block isn't tampered with, plus check the cam lobes to see whats been going on.
Try saving the tranny if possible.

Would it not be simpler for him to just buy an OHC Vtec in the first place?
