I have a barely used K&N Conical which I can give off for a decent price, but be warned that the intake noise from the K&N setup is quite booming. Unless you plan to do some customisation around this filter (like making a housing for it or modifying the original air filter housing to take the K&N inside) it can be quite irritating.

The Green Cotton + something something kit will cost you about 9k.

Expensive pipe, therefore it cant be called a pipe. I found a replacement for it at a plumber's shop in DXB - much the same thing, does the same thing, costs Dhs.7 per meter (Rs.84).

One finds all such things in DXb, but hard to come by here in India. Hence the need to pay that price for a fancy name..

you can install a k&n universal filter and get the piping done yourself. I had done it for my bolero, only thing is the sound from the engine increases. I think u also get a replacement filter that fits in the existing canister. But then for performance open filters the best.

Sorry for being dumb, but i am a bit lost now. Do you mean to say that i should go for a green storm filter but it increases the sound of the engine and Green storm filter is a performance filter?

Am I correct in my understanding?

yes thats exactly what we are suggesting. the noise dosent go up much with a green storm.

Nope.

1. You can go in for a K & N conical, which will make your engine breathe much better and therefore perform better (the results are quite significant) BUT at the cost of increased noise levels.

You can read about it here:

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...tml#post237769

2. You can also fit a K & N conical and build a custom enclosure for it OR get someone to fit it inside the current air filter casing - this will reduce noise.

3. You can also fit Green Cotton filters with their ready made something-something kit (whatever Akshay said) which is basically an enclosed filter with piping that will give you what could pass off as a Cold Air Intake system if you route the piping to your grille as I have done:

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...tml#post875889

and explained by dadu here:

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...tml#post875955

As you can see, most of these topics have already been discussed and you will find quite a lot of information if you do a search (I will agree however that the term K&N cannot be searched on as it is deemed to be too short a word).
