i second bottle's suggestion white mesh on a white car may look too plain. grey should look good.

i was mulling over the positioning of the rear number plate. came upon 2 good ideas(i intend to use a small and thin number plate)
if i go with placing the number plate on the bumper, ill disconnect the number plate housing lights on the boot and keep the dark look going with the smoked tail lamps and the black smoked tail blazer.
but if i place a small number plate in the original position, the bumper will not be occupied and made holes into.
these are crude paint cut paste jobs. please gimme an honest opinion as to which setup looks more at home on my car.
thanx!
also, regarding the front of the car: the car will be going for its pre diwali polish, and thats when i have been promised a couple of touch ups where i want by the painter, should i paint the skirts of the bumper black?
i visualize it will look good. whats the consensus on that?? by skirts i mean the spoiler like projection running along the breadth of the car: just beneath the mesh and the fogs

no special reason. just thought that im blacking out the lights so getting clear lens lights will increase the throw and visibility over the normal plastic llights of the type 2. thats why..
i will take a break soon but need to finish the smaller details now.. lol

Frank,

If you cant feel the scratch with your nail then relax it will go with polishing. If you can feel it then I feel sorry polishing will at the most lighten it. Have had some bugger make a deep line across the entire right side which is so . Have decided to leave it there as touching up my paint is damn expensive and will only happen again.

I agree. the clear lamps in the front with the smoked turn indicators makes it look a little odd. imho please remove the smoked affect from all the lights. it will look like it came from the factory. Very sophisticated.

Impressed with the makeover. We have an old Maruthi 100, which has come to poor stage. This make over impressed me to take an initiative to get that back in good shape.

It also has some engine job done, so was thinking to swapp the engine with 1.3 MJD is there any possibility of getting that diesel multijet engine?

Great job on your esteem.

thanx naveen. about swapping the engine for an mjd, im quite sure youll end up spending a lot of money and not be happy with the eventual product. because its an old and run down car, i doubt it will be able to put up with the torque of the mjd, which is massive. also its not a safe bet to provide so much power to the 1000 which i think has weak brakes and a not so stiff body structure. i think the tranny and engine of a used carburetted esteem will do you good.
get a free flow, get a porting and polishing job and make sure someone who tunes the carburettor knows what hes doing, and you can end up with a very zippy car. i dont recommend mpfi as that will be an expensive affair, what with the ecu and the injectors and stuff(expensive to buy and you never know how used examples have been treated.)
you could also try showhorning the popular toyota engines that i have heard perform well..
im new to engine swaps but this much knowledge is ok to start with..
