| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | My conti and the esteem that we have modded both have push button start's but of diff types: 1) Conti has a direct push button start after the ignition key is put on. 2) The esteem has 2 remotes (1 security, 2 starter kit) we can unlock the car and start it without even putting in the key.

| I have seen these types of push button starters in school buses and jeeps when I was a kid.

1) Start Push Button: you could get a 5 AMP button or toggle swith from an electronics dealer. 2) Wiring: Basically the electrician will have to open the steering lock assebly and parellel wire the starter connections to the button. This way no one will be able to start the car without the key. If you go the remote way it is a bit harder, you would need to rewire extensively for a second remote on your car and also use an solenoid to trigger the starter switch.

Button Way: Button: Push type / Toggle 50 -100 Rs. Wiring: 100 Rs. Remote way: Bike remote lock: 1500-2000 rs. Solenoid: 250 -300 Push Switch- 50 -100 Wiring: 300-500 Personal preference: Button way as it is hassle free and dont have to carry 2 remotes around. Also lesser things that could go wrong. However the remote way is really neat to show off ![]()
