Alto 1.1 PW steering to Alto 800.non PWS - Team-BHP

Mods pls move to appropriate thread...

today i found a 1.1ltr alto which the body was completely damaged except the roof and it had clocked only 15k on the odo.The problem is it doesnt have an insurance to claim,hence it is left idle in the garrage.
since my alto is non PWS-LX model, i would like to replace the PWS from that.My mech. suggested not to do that,hence will end up with lot of problems..and claims that factory fitted is the obsloute one.

I,m also eager to have the ODO with rpm meter,Front 2 PWR
windows,Remote tail gate remover(Lever next to fuel tank opener) and also rear wiper if possible.

Gurus,pls shed some light on this....pls comment on each above...all this may work out dead cheap...

I wanted to know how well will this go into my car...

You can fit a PWS system. I dont know why your mechanic called in obsolete though.

Man! That's wonderful news. It's not everyday you'll get to see a car in this condition.

You shouldn't just stop with the power steering and power windows. Dude! It's a great chance to put some real fun into your current Alto! I'll explain you how.
1. Find a good mechanic/garage.
2. Get that 1.1ltr engine beauty from the damaged car. Include the gearbox, alternator, power steering assembly, ac unit, odo, console etc.. too.
3. Remove your current engine etc.. from your car fix in the 1.1ltr engine and it's companions.
4. Enjoy the power and beauty of the real Alto.

This is a golden opportunity, so don't miss it. Act now before some other Alto owner sees this.

To answer your question, It's not possible to hook up the 1.1ltr engine RPM meter to .8ltr engine.

Mine is 2y old 25k kms on odo vehicle.i,m quiet hesitant(not dare enough) to change my engine spec....don't no why?my car is hungry for power but no moolahhh,if yes

How much would the labour and fitment cost..

just looking for a minor changes which adds gizmos to my ride...

So shall i go for the PWS?
How abt the Tail gate remover.?
PWR windows...might be little damage due the complete body impact.

Do u think 50k for the whole deal work-out well.

Guys if any one are interested in this eng.to source..i will help you out and work it cheaper.

Dude, buy that car for 50K. Of course, bargain, starting at 35K. Remove that body. Put the body of YOUR car onto that car. That is easier that removing components from the damaged car and fitting them on to your car, see? Sell whatever remains of your car for 50K. Of course, bargain, starting at 80K.

ramsagar please please buy that engine and fit it in. Its one helluva machine which can put some others cars to shame. All you need to do is find a good mechanic to do the job for you. If I were you I wouldn't let go of this offer.

Dunno about power steering, but here are some indicate prices for brand new, including fitment.

1. Tail gate opener - 500 - 1.5K for after market fitment on Logan. (read somewhere here).
2. PWR windows 6-7.5K for 4 windows. Around 4K for front 2 windows only.

As others have pointed out - if you can get that engine (and gear box too- afaict); it will be a steal.

Just make sure everything is working or atleast in a workable condition. As said, negotiate and bring the thing down!

Pls let me know if anyone come across used/accidental Power steering form Alto/wagon-R.
I'm ready to procure one immediately.Cos i badly need it to fit it on my Alto.
Pls let know where can get it in B'lore.

You can get PS fitted from MASS for 20K. Why look for one from totalled cars ?
