Hi guys ,
my friend is planning to get a paint job on his NHC ( NON ZX)
He wanted to ask whether he needs to get the colour mentioned on his RC changed?

Thanks

Yes it needs to be changed.

Else he may face trouble if he needs insurance claim and can be a problem
god forbid in case of theft.

you can paint it on your own too thats not an issue
All you need to do is get in touch with RTO
easier option will be to get it done through a agent.

as akshay said, u need to approach the RTO where the car is registered.
just catch an agent and make him aware of the situation. rest is his job (at a cost though).

Get it rectified soon. You could face problems later on.

By the way does changing the car's color lower its re-sale value?

Definitely yes... color change is mostly in the case of major accidents.

My Car's RC says Colour of the Car:Saloon. Go figure. But yes definately the color change needs to be endorsed on the RC. Could land you in trouble even with Cops during routine checks.

It should as it is hard to get the factory like finish in repaint and the long term durability (like fading, cracking) is questionable. They need to strip down the plastics/trims/carpet etc which would not be in the original state when they them back. I am strongly tempted to get my car painted with a diferent colour but i am hesitant becasue of these reasons.

My friend will sell the car in 2 years and he is not concerned about the resale value.
Thanks for the advice.
