| BHPian | After year's of waiting,Upgraded my car to DDIS after an m800 and as the bug continues i will slowly mod this car as well. After the ICE install done http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sound-...ddis-getz.html (Bull + kenwood > DDIS and GETZ) Today my car has its 1st service completing 1100kms swiftly .Since the day the car was in my hand i really found the stock tyres CRAPPY! All these 1100 kms didnt have the confidence of driving over 80km/h.The stock tyres give a weird rear and front look to the car,and the side was of the stock JK TYRE TORNADO'S seem to flex alot during cornering, the tyres squeal over 80km/h if a little harsh or emergency brakes need to be taken. If have to hit the brakes during turns the car seems to tail out very soon. anyways my 1st priority were the TYRES even before RIMS. From 165/80/14 to 205/55/15 After the tyre upgrade its feel so so good.Car is more stable body roll has gone down 80%,braking has improve 50%.Ride is lowered by 14mm (approx),Cornering speed have gone from 65 to 120km/h.Im really happy with the decision tough its been a bit heavy on the pocket for me but it seems worth it atleast for now. Thanks to JITESH from BK tyres, lajpat nagar for helping me to get STOCK 15" rims and thank to M4UGR8,SAM 786 & HELLSPAWN for being there and helping with the decision. so now il let some pic's do the talking

| BHPian | Slooooowly boy slllowwly! i want to enjoy every bit of this car .Il keep this thread for the same. You might get another update sooooon!I wanted to upgrade the alloy + tyre. But then i would had to stay with maxxis and that would not have been that smart. So its just tyres for now.Alloys would be there as well. anyways thanx

| 15 inch rims are from the Corolla? How wide are the rims? The sidewalls seem quite bulgy, is that how S.drives are?

| BHPian | Today as to what i drove,i ripped them hard as well. The drive has become softer the car is steadier.More confidence is taking quick left's and right.Very Grippy indeed with all the praise that they got, it seems worth it as of now. Yes those are stock corolla 15" rims for temp use.The rim is 5.5j (not sure),will upgrade to alloys soon

| BHPian | Pardon my curiousity, but you said you got "stock 15" rims"? Now to the best of my knowledge (which is rather limited) the Swift does not come with 15" rims in either the Petrol version or the Diesel version. That begs the question, which cars' steel rims are you using and is it the right fit? --- Sorry, ignore my question. Seems we were posting at the same time and your post answered my query. | Team-BHP Support ![]() | Why go full flush on tyres and skimp on alloys? Fast W rated tyres don't seem worth it on a diesel Swift with heavy steel rims. Get good quality alloys (no fake mackwheels). They'll really make the car look and handle better than the steel wheels.

Steel Rims are just 3-4kg a piece where as HR's were around 11kg,Maglines are 7kgs. I didnt want to compromise on wheels since i had some few close calls before under 80km/h only. Waiting for some new designs to come up as told by a few dealers.Steel rim's will go soon. Quote:
Yes got same wheel covers as base model corolla will post the pic

| I'm glad you did this. been thinking of doing this since ishan told me the stock corolla comes with steel rims of 15 and 100 PCD. I thought the same, its the tyres that are more important, not the rims. waiting for the toyota wheel cap pics. Will probably go the same way as you, get the toyota steel rims as a temp measure till the cash for the alloys materialises. anyway- at 25000 kms, my 185/r14 potenza G3s are still going strong, will be while before i need to replace them.
