- Nice fragrances can't stay long as they are not compatible with fragrance fixatives. Hence i guess two months for a Rs.70/- item is fair.
- Vanillaroma has been all time favorite, followed by Royal Pine, Wild Cherry, Forest Fresh, Lavender and Vanilla Pride. Jasmine is worst.

From Peabody Fossil Hunters site
....The gnats here are vicious—they go for the eyes and ears in particular. After a few days of swatting and cursing at them, we learned that car fresheners repel them better than any commercial bug repellent. The vanilla and “new car” scents work the best. They’ve been dangling off our hats ever since.

I used My Shaldan lime. Ordered it from shopclues. The smell wore off after a week! The online merchant is to be blamed. They sent it in a flimsy wrapping and the can got bent and its lid opened en route, losing much of its smell. The courier guy asked me if it was some fruit I ordered as it smelled all lemon-y! Decided not to buy car perfumes from online stores again.

Anyway, the fruity smell of my shaldan is definitely good to put unwanted odours at bay. Last weekend, I bought my shaldan (squash) from Glix and the results have been good so far.

I have been a regular user of My Shaldon car perfumes and they last easily for a couple of months. I usually prefer either Lime or Squash fragrances as they are light and not nauseating. Over the time I realized that half opening the can cover makes the perfume last longer than the normal open can.

One question - Is it safe to place naphthalene balls in plastic zip lock in the car boot?

Which is the cheapest online place to get Little Trees fresheners? Flipkart has them for about 80Rs. per piece. Any other cheaper online store ?

Try snapdeal. Marginally better price of Rs 374 for a pack of 6 --> http://m.snapdeal.com/product/little...dium=101626894

I thought I'd update my experience on squash flavor of my shaldan.

Unlike the lime which was more like a blast of fruity smell hitting you as you entered the car, the squash version is milder. I think I will stick to it. The Glix guys have fitted it with adhesive tapes on the carpet below the passenger seat and as advised by @ghodlur I have kept the lid half open to make it last longer.

I saw that, but am not a fan if some of the floral fragrances. The other combos are a bit more expensive.

I just got this glade air freshener. Is it safe to use inside the car?
I read earlier that these things can spoil the AC somehow, If that's true then I'll just chuck it some where else.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Name: ImageUploadedByTeamBHP1423920974.438002.jpg

I tried the vinegar test and also drove with coal in various parts of the car for a while to absorb the stench but its still around. Last i drove to Lonavala in this and had to travel all the way with the windows rolled down for fear of having an asthma attack being strongly allergic to overpowering smell. The wife, children and now even my dog refuses to sit in it.

Please tell me of a foolproof way of getting this smell neutered 100%.
I was thinking of a steam clean job but will it help? Im really desperate!!
I don't use any car perfume in my car, I leave a lemon the cabin and repace it when it dries it generally takes care of all the odours. I have heard orange peel will also do a superb job.

My car certainly doesnt smell of some cheap plastic or chemicals(perfumes), clean the interior regularly and that's it car feels pleasant. both me and my wife are allergic to strong scents, especailly to the smell which comes off the plastic/fabric of the interior. thankfully after good 3years my truck's interior smell bad...

frankly, i realized this aspect only after i sat in my friends "i10", within few minutes of the drive i felt like throwing-up, the scent/smell was so strong. strangely i noticed the same in a brand new "i10" aswel.

I think people should consider this point before making the decision.

True. I dust out the noodle mats everyday. Sometimes even twice a day. And the car is vacuumed whenever it's dirty. The full interior Is cleaned every week. All this makes the car "fresh". Honestly, the glade thing is my first air freshener, and in the last couple of hours I've had it, I don't find it beneficial. At least in my car.

so picked up a Godrej Aer Clickís musk from a local supermarket. It had a woody note and the cabin smelled quite nice when the AC was turned on but the device which plugs itself to the carís AC vents has a shoddy build quality and the lower part which opens, doesnít hold itself firmly to the body when closed:

Unlike the Ambipur device which has a nice build quality and the bottle is threaded to the body. This one lasted for perhaps 2 months or so and dried up.

After that, I picked up a Glade Clean Linen gel since it was cheap - 60 bucks or so IIRC. And threw it away on the second day! The cabin started smelling exactly like rotten bananas - the kind of smell that bananas would discharge when it has ripened and begins decomposing when left in the open. I am not kidding! I am not sure how the manufacturer found the smell of clean linen similar to that of this! And this was a new can and the expiry date wasnít over. So avoid this one come what may. The can looks like this:

I had to use some dry charcoal in a pouch for a few days to get rid of this smell from the cabin.

Picked up the Areon Wish this time and has been in the car since the last 3 days. It has a nice musky note.

Made in Bulgaria says the import sticker and the outer packaging:

How does your car smell-wp_20150323_20_26_31_pro.jpg

The best part of the Areonís packaging is, thereís a small strip at the top that has the sample fragrance embedded in it just like those expensive magazines with scent strips:

How does your car smell-wp_20150323_20_25_53_pro.jpg

so you can get an idea of the fragrance that the gel inside would emanate. The fragrance is a bit too strong though.

I have a (jute) car sachet (you can see it hanging below the IRVM) and from time to time I put a few drops of essential oils and my car smells great.

I purchased the My Shaldan lime fragrance a month ago. The fragrance lasts long, but I get a headache and a suffocating feeling every time I drive for more than an hour, so it will be retired soon .

I prefer a subtle and fresh fragrance, not a fruity one. Any suggestions?

I have the same question in mind. Thought i'd explore Aeron this time just to experiment a new fragrance. But i'm confused if i should buy a black or red or gold or silver or blue. There are too many choices and i'm unable to figure. I'm looking for a slightly premium odour. Any suggestions from people who have tried Aeron?
