| Senior - BHPian | This diy started off with the purpose of changing the speedometer lights to blue and got sidetracked into changing the color of the parking lamps .Components: Blue LEDs (5mm or 8mm) 470 Ohms resistors Holders from fused LED parking lamps(the ones that are used in bikes like discover or pulsar) Tools: Soldering iron. Cutter. The 8mm LED: ![]() Cut short the longer leg(anode or +ve) of the LED: ![]() The 470 Ohms resistor: ![]() Cut short any one lead of the resistor and solder it with the anode of the LED: The fused LED parking lamp (from my friend's discover) ![]() The holder alone with the LED plied out: ![]() Blue LED inserted into the holder: ![]() Legs of LED coming out the other side of the holder: ![]() Holder fitted to the headlamp: ![]() |

| BHPian | to continue with bbs note.. The cost of the DIY is 8mm blue LED - Rs: 5.00 per piece 470 ohms resistor - Rs: 0.25 per piece 5mm blue LED - Rs: 0.60 per piece and the pleasure of seeing it working is PRICELESS!! |

| Just out of curiousity, blue LED parking light bulbs are available in the market; so why go and get those straight? Dont get me wrong, what you have done is really cool, but is there a reason you didnt buy them straight away? |
