Default DIY-Blue LED Parking Lamp & Speedo Meter+Wire Mesh Grille & Underbody Neons for Alto

This diy started off with the purpose of changing the speedometer lights to blue and got sidetracked into changing the color of the parking lamps.

Components:
Blue LEDs (5mm or 8mm)
470 Ohms resistors
Holders from fused LED parking lamps(the ones that are used in bikes like discover or pulsar)

Tools:
Soldering iron.
Cutter.

The 8mm LED:

Cut short the longer leg(anode or +ve) of the LED:

The 470 Ohms resistor:

Cut short any one lead of the resistor and solder it with the anode of the LED:

The fused LED parking lamp (from my friend's discover)

The holder alone with the LED plied out:

Blue LED inserted into the holder:

Legs of LED coming out the other side of the holder:

to continue with bbs note..

The cost of the DIY is 8mm blue LED - Rs: 5.00 per piece
470 ohms resistor - Rs: 0.25 per piece
5mm blue LED - Rs: 0.60 per piece
and the pleasure of seeing it working is PRICELESS!!

Just out of curiousity, blue LED parking light bulbs are available in the market; so why go and get those straight?
Dont get me wrong, what you have done is really cool, but is there a reason you didnt buy them straight away?

as i said before, i bought these LEDs & stuff for the speedometer diy project and then thought of changing the parking lamps too so this was a quick sub-project.

Or you can use a piece of plastic (about 2 to 3 mm thick). Basically, its(the white thingy) purpose is to hold the LED firm when inserted into the car's parking lamp slots.
