Is this a TRD kit fitted by the Toyota dealer? Did you get a new ECU or reflash?

They should be able to help with the CEL.

Cool New Update Turbo Removed

hi
i am sorry but this turbo was not giving result which i expect
first bad fuel economy because bad tuning of the emage ultimate
secound bad smell coming from the car exaust
so i decided to remove turbo and
upgrade the engine from 1.6 to 1.8l
using original toyota 1.8 pinston connecting rods and crackshaft
posting picture here

Great car, Narry.

We (wife and I) rented one (same color as your's) and went all the way to 12 Apostles on 'Great Ocean Drive' in Victoria, Australia in 2006. The car returned around 18 kmpl, which was great. The looks are awesome though I felt that anything above 100 kmph was not for this car.

One thing I remember was that the clutch needs to be depressed for ignition.

As they say, no replacement for displacement! I prefer stock horses over the after-market type (of the same quantity). Even in India, there is a distinct lack of quality in most after-market turbo jobs....they simply aren't reliable. Some are, but I am speaking of the majority.
