I got Sunshield on my Amby it's excellent to drive at night....but in the day there is a lot of glare, reflection from the windshield , but the car keeps it's cool due to the film, it's running at least 5 Degrees cooler than normal

Tinted glass for the front windshield ? I don't think its available and its certainly not advisable. I'm sure the more learned members on this forum would agree.

I've seen people stick dark sunfilms to the front windshield also !!! This is crazy and you would be inviting trouble with the law also.

Today evening will put the details of all versions of available Garware as i have their cataogue. Dont know whether they are worth or not but seen their demo and cooling effect was quite good in higher range versions. Still my Swift is running without any suncontrol film :(.

i got johnson&johnson film put on my getz's windscreen. it cost 2800 and took half and hour to put on. the ir reduction is supposedly 85% and the visibility is 65% (yeah, a bit less than the rules allow) and the dealer will refund money if the cops stop me for putting it on. it seems very good and the car feels much cooler.

these days i see lot of cars with tinted windshield. i feel as if everyone is hiding behind that dark glass and i am in an open-top jeep!! i don't like the dark tints at all (on any of the windows) but i don't mind clear film that will reduce heat, UV, etc. yet to get them though. very skeptical about the front windshield. i like my windshield to be absolutely clean and clear.

I opted for 3M RE70 for the front windshield.. costed me approx 2.5k

for side.. its 3M HP50 (cost 2.4K)

Total heat reduction is good.

Default Vkool or Llumar

I'm planning to put the front sunfilm for my safari.

Anyone have experience with both ? Which would you suggest ?

The price diff is almost Rs. 3000/-

Vkool - 9450/- from infrakool
Llumar - 6500/- from concorde.

thanks

Well I don't have experience with both of them. I have V-kool and its worth the penny you pay. I did the drive to Chennai and back in the morning and evening respectively, meaning I had the sun in the front for most part of my ride and with v-kool I did not have any problems. The dashboard didn't get hot, my hands did not prick or get heated up which usually happens in my other car which has no sunfilm in the front.

Its definitely worth the money.

@smsrini i would recommend VKool. it is better than llumar. PitStop gave me 10% discount (compared to Infrakool), so you may check there and a couple of other places before you commit.

Default Installed Llumar AIR75

Thanks everyone for your inputs. I went with Llumar since vit-M was tight. Got a 500 Rs. off on the quoted price...

Filming all around the car does a better job. Way better. Blocking just the front windscreen won't help. Same goes for blocking the sides as well as the rear, if the front windscreen is left, it wont really help. Your best bet is get an all around film job.

Garware has two products:

1) CoolVision
2) Ice Cool

One rejects 50% while the other 37% and hence later cost 2k for most cars and first one 3500 range.
