The process you described is correct! but if possible, do it on a Saturday(Wash>clay>Polish> NXT)

on Sunday morning, give it a 2nd coat of NXT (then it'll really last longer supplemented with UQD whenever you like and UQW weekly)

Topping up NXT with collinite will be great too, will bring that depth and jetting to the black paint(again, Sat-NXT, Sun(morning)-collinite)

the idea behind Saturday and Sunday is that you need to give 'at least' 12 hours for each wax coat to cure, 24 would be awesome!

The main problem for sat->sun stretched detailing is that my car is used almost every day (weekdays for office, weekend afternoon/evening for movies etc.) and picks up all the dirt (especially in lower panels)
So I guess I have to hold back the temptation of driving for a saturday evening, and finish the process.
All of these after the monsoons are over. Till then its wash->cleaner wax only, with some UQD and UQW thrown in later. I also need some time to procure a good polish (How's megs deep crytal polish?)

Dear all,
Have got Black ford fiesta.
It has developed scratch marks (some may term them as swirl marks) all over the body.
Request your help as to how to manage it as it looks quite annoying.

megs deep crystal is great for dark colored cars.
I will suggest put 2 layers of NXT and THEN collinite. In fact i have not tried collinite on NXT, all i have been doing is layer on layer of NXT and the occasional UQW. Has worked really well for my i-10. I have yet to hear about results of collinite over NXT, but if you wish to try, give a couple of layers of NXT and then top it with Collinite. Keep adding collinite then

The only preparation I did was a thorough wash with Turtle Platinum series Performance wash, wipe up with a chamois, allowed dryup in enclosed shade for 1 hour and then went ahead with Collinite-845 as per the pdf instructions. The pics I have posted were immediately after Collinite session but now the Car looks even better.
The Alloys are genuine Honda from Honda dealer. I exchanged my VMT 5 spoke stock alloys with these dual tone "V" Alloys for 12.5K for 4 after negotiating. (Though he was asking for 15K)

For scratches - I guess megs scratchx 2.0 should be used.
Swirls are very difficult to gd rid off - even for pros here like mkh / sohail. They have used megs swirlx / ultimate compound.
I leave it to the pros to comment further.
But be aware that paint correction is a VERY time consuming and tiring process.

Its v tough to comment on what to do without seeing the surface. I guess your car is 2 yrs old , but as blackasta told its very tough to do away with swirls with hand. Post some pics of the scratches. Scratch x is best for isolated blemishes, UC with hand is best but needs a huge effort. If you can spend 6 hours or so spread over a few days and can get hold of the right prods you will get the result. An easier way out is go get a treatment done and maintain through suggested ways what i can give or anyone who is well versed with proper surface maintenance. For preventing swirls its vvv essential to have a california duster in india

Blackasta - Just to add, i understood how important claying is once i saw the results as in the loads of dirt that came off the surface once i started. What looks clean is not necessarily clean & its this millions of microscopic bonded contaminants that prevent the wax from adhering to the surface ! Since yours is a daily drive, i suggest you clay after washing, then proceed with other steps. Will make the surface as smooth as glass

Dinesh - If you have swirls & scratches all over the body, its better to give it a professional treatment done. A machine pass is very much required to smoothen out the surface which achieving by hand is very difficult & time consuming ! (my hand & shoulders are still paining a bit from Sundays session )

Currently ive layered two coats of NXT & waiting for the Collinite to arrive before trying it out this weekend. I'm layering on a coat of NXT every night & hope to finish at least 4 layers before adding on the Collinite !

Gurus...couple of days back used small quantities of collinite 845 on the windshield and the alloys (apart from body of course)- as of now find the results very good...any long term issue that may creep in?

Is it OK to apply it on windshield? I have Llumar Diamond installed on my windshield. Don't want to take any risk.

Yes Prateek, I look forward to your review and results pics.
I would suggest don't click the pics immediatly. My experience says Collinite gives out the real results after some hours (you can call it curing time of some sorts), I would say overnight or on the next day.

SanjayC, I have read many forums where people have been using Collinite#845 for many years on Alloys and Glass including windshields without any side effect, just try Googling it.

Oops. I remember that installer removing IRVM while installing Llumar.

Is it not installed on the outside too? I don't remember at all.
