5L budget - Baleno put through some serious mods - Page 11 - Team-BHP

Srijit,
Cost is above 1L, lot have thought of it or rather going AWD since cost for AWD or RWD is the same. but then that 1L can be spent on other stuff on the car, so the priority for RWD/AWD drops.

Landed cost for the AWD kit will be close to 2 lakhs, used. Then you may need to rebuild it, before cutting and pasting it to the Baleno. You'll end up with a bill of closer to 4 lakhs once you're done.

We should start a B16 thread now I guess, what a turn of events. Is the B16 going into a 1.3OHC, or something thats already built.

Rahul, who is sourcing the engine? NA mods should give close to the 200 bhp mark right?

OK, let me clear out the confusion

We were looking for a Baleno for around 1.5L (any more than that i wouldn't be able to get the mods within the budget unless i compromise on something, which i do not want to). The deal with the one i came across didn't go well, so now back on the hunt for one. The list of mods is more or less the same as i posted earlier.

All the stuff and everything is decided, some of it has already been ordered. Now only thing left is to get a damn car to fix those mods on!!

But someway or the other, the car WILL be ready by June 15th (yes, its a bit longer than i had initially planned). No doubt about it...

Two things: How did you order stuff without deciding the car? What did you order?

The whole build will be done in less than a month? Man thats amazing, i wish you luck.

Haha. I think Karthik has finally decided not to do an engine swap? Mohit, I think he means the turbo kit. He has only two choices for a car, OHC or baleno. Both would require almost the same kit, except for the plumbing and manifold.

I think getting the tuning right is the key factor here. I am sure anyone can assemble a turbo kit in 2-3 days.

Interesting, keep us posted, this is gonna be an interesting build. you are probably one of those very few guys who buy a turbo kit before they buy the car. Enjoy, hope you are not dissapointed.

Yes thats what im hoping for as well

I only had a choice between Baleno/OHC and since the turbo kit would be same for both the cars i already ordered as everything may not be in stock.

No, it got sold to a member here. Just retained the ECU and some peripherals, which I'm using now.
