Mild meaning...headers+ CAI and stuff like that.

as far as handling ....everything is relative. If you want a track handling champ, Accord is the worst choice regardless of engine.

Also with these engines mods have to be done very carefully as there are too many sensors and electronics to mess up

You'l just end up with a car that will zip past everything on the straights only to lose out in the corners. K24 i think is the better choice for overall performance.

H22 is a good alternative. I have seen that engine in a OHC, only wish that car handled better.

The only K22 (if it can be called that) I've heard of was used in the Mugen Civic RR Experimental/Advanced Spec concept- some 260 NA hp from 2157cc but it has little in common (WRT flow dynamics and VVT operations) with its bigger sibling (K24). Maybe DocG can shed more light on this frankenstien.

sorry i meant K20...logged on through my phone

else i'd suggest K24 turbo. the long stroke helps low end torque, so the drivability is great!

He isn't looking for a track car. He just needs a quick comfortable car that is also a good handler.

With a J37, he will be quick and comfortable but it maynot have the balance that a K24 engine will provide.

A Turbocharged K24 makes more sense in this case.

Reviving this thread.

My thread is still in the Assembly line, but I now have a properly clean K24a4 Honda Accord 2.4 2004 version. It is sweeeet to own - both comfortable and very refined-fast. Hitting the redline is such a easy task and it still is so refined at that point! Basically: I am happy.

BUT, this is my second car and the more indulgent choice. So here's my task to make this is a comfy/refined/faast-car. For the handling bit, I do have my trusty rascal - the Cedia Sports.

What are the realistic K24 mods in India?
So far I have:
- CAI/Short-Ram Intake (K&N Typhoon or Pipercross?)
- Magnaflow exhaust system
- Both the above will get at best 5-6hp, and are more of mental-bhp!

So, apart from those, what are the bolt-on turbos for this engine that I can get done and still keep it (almost) as reliable and a daily driver?
Are there are other bolt-ons apart from turbo-kits? If yes, which ones?
This is only to set me in the right direction for the research.
I am of course, very serious about this project!

Cheers

Check out sites like driveaccord.com and v6performance.com for what to do about mods. You will figure out a lot from there.

Get a K&N typhoon which is made specifically for your car, and a full Magnaflow exhaust, not just mufflers. There are many, many mods for the Accord.

Hey Akshay, I see a meeting coming up with very soon!
I've been trolling DA and v6P for a while now, but was wondering about the India-scene specifically.

@Ricky: This is for my Accord and not the Cedia! I seem to be branded as the Cedia guy here, that car is now my occasional drive car in Hyderabad!

We can meet anytime. Where in Mumbai are you?

Haha the best thing to do in India is to pick up parts from the US. All bolt on, and reasonably cheap.

Oh ok, I thought it would be more fun with the Cedia, the Accord to me is a gentleman's car, whereas the Cedia can have a "wild side" attitude !! Or maybe it is just me.

Totally true. I call the Cedia the rascal while the Accord is a true gentleman.
But I wanted some character in the car.
Plus am spending more time in the Accord nowadays!
