free flow exhaust will void your warranty.. so do it at your own risk.
Heard that some unscruplous dealer insists that putting an aftermarket music system voids warranties for the electrical.. so get it clarified by the dealer.. and preferably have it written..
The one thing must have is a good quality sunfilm..

5> leather seats or art leather seats

A bit , but are these available in India now (I read in some AutoMag a year or two back that they aren't), how much would these cost, and any recommendations?

Thumbs up

Hey Buddy,

A Security system definitely falls under accessories. They are available in India since 1998. Am giving below the brands that are available in most metro cities which offer engine immobilizers.

1> Viper Security Systems
2> Hornet Security Systems
3> Xenos
4> Silicon
5> Wheels

There are many more but am not sure of the reliability. A good system would cost upwards of Rs6000/-. Recommendations are in the order listed.

I would like to have leather seats for my newly purchased (yet to be delivered) black colored Swift. I thought it would be very expensive to go for leather seats through showroom ( For Lancer, ACT India charged 45K).

Hence enquired in outside market & found out the prices will be around Rs.30K. Through the Maruti sales guy, I came to know that Maruti has leather seats that will cost around Rs.12k. He says that seats and back rest will be of leather and back side of the seat will of leather like quality.

Have anyone purchased leather seats through Maruti?

What are the various types of leather seats available ( i want to do apple to apple comparison here), if the list is big & could not be written down, just ignore

Hey Buddy,

What Maruti is offering you(99%) will be half leather half art leather. Stanley and Saddles already make these and are available in Mumbai for approx 10-12k.

Stanley pure leather seats retails for Rs 17500/- and saddles for Rs 14500/-. There are others but these 2 are the best.

You can get art leather seats for Rs3500/- onwards depending on the quality of material you choose. Prices are inclusive of fitting.

OK, Booked a Swift Zxi in Silver. Am expecting delivery sometime at the end of the month. Downloaded and checked up the Swift MGA brochure. Here's my potential list of accessories ( To be evaluated and revised after checking costs and recommendations from fellow experts here)-

Exteriors-
- Muffler extension ( Looks qiute decent, wonder how good the quality will be?)
- Sun Film ( Which company? Prices seem to vary quite a bit)
- Door Visors aka Rain guards ( Rains a lot around here)
- Mud Flaps ( Maruti shoulda provided these as standard!)
- Reverse Parking Sensors ( Don't actually need them but it would be cool to have them- But no cheepo- " This car is backing out" kinda thing- Wonder how much a sophisticated one would cost?)
- Body Cover
- Fuel Lid cover? ummmm, looks kinda iffy in the brochure. Bet It'll look real Bhaiya. Cut that out.

INTERIORS-
- Aluminium Pedal pads
- Centre Arm Rest
- Digital clock ( OR the whole she-bang of outside temp., average fuel consumption etc. that is available in foreign markets. Wonder when it'll hit our market)
- Good leather steering Wheel cover ( Preferrably without exposed stitching - Which ones look like factory fitted?)
- Leather Seat Cover ( MY Dealers told me that Maruti uses Stanley issue Leather seat covers. Is this true? How much would these cost? Are Genuine Leather covers bought from Stanley better? Should I opt for Art leather instead ? Lastly, In a Silver Swift with the Black interiors, would a Beige (Nutmeg Color) look Ok or would black go better? Please Help me out felows>)
- Floor Mats ( Designer/ PVC/ Rubber/ Carpet- Boxer???)
- A good MP3 Player compatible with an i-pod and steering mounted remote ( which one?)
- Set of 4 speakers ( would 2 tweeters be necessary?)
- Rear seat Footrest?? I dunno.. cut that
- Sun shade band in front windscreen
- What about a dead pedal.
Maruti shiould have provided the last two. C'mon, even a Hyundai Santro has these.

Anything I need to add? What do U guys think????
