Default suspension mods

I am planning to buy a used sedan to do some performance mods, probably civic or magnum.
One thing I feel is a big problem in sedans is the GC which is way too low for the roads in my city. It is almost impossible to clear a bump, unless the car comes almost to a standstill.
So, my question is, can I increase the ground clearance when I install performance suspension like Koni? Cos I might anyway install these, so if I can increase the height a little bit, it will be an added advantage.

Koni's doesn't increase the cars GC AFAIK. Coil-overs will be the way you need to tread if you are looking at increasing the height and these aint cheap. However wait till the experts confirm.

There are a few civics running around with lowered suspension in Bangalore.

Now coming back to your question, you can get adjustable suspension and stiffen the suspension so that the car does not bottom out on speed breakers. Combine this with a tyre/alloy combo which gives a few mm of ride height will be the ideal solution.

Raising the ride height has a negative impact IMHO. Incase you decide you need to get coilovers with ride adjustability to do that.

OT - but if you have to chose between the Magnum and Civic - go for the Magnum diesel. You'll be anyway addressing its only current flaw with your suspension upgrade- soft suspension; and it'll fly like no other car around it - with a diesel tuning box.

MXX,

Go to the SEARCH TEAM-BHP box on the top right of the page,

Type increasing ground clearance

You should get atleast 10 related threads, as well as one that focuses on the civic.
