Question What battery for palio 1.2ELX

Stock DIN50 Exide battery of my 1.2ELX was dead Yday after 3.5 years. As there was no stock DIN50 with Panasonic or Amaron...I am using a DIN55 Panasonic standby battery till the stock arrives.

Any problem of using a battery with higher rating?

Absolutely no problem, go for DIN50/55 Amaron, anytime better than Exide.

well, both are okay- amaron would be better, IMHO. and if you have a nice stereo, and some goodies that require serious power, go in for a 60 ampere rated battery, or more. you see, the higher the battery rating, the lesser are the chances of it getting drained under sustained use, like a high-output stereo system, fog lamps, etc.

so, since you are buying a new battery, go in for a model that has a high ampere rating, and fits into your bay without any mods. assuming your previous battery had a 50 amp. rating, (DIN50), you should be able to accomodate an 60 amp. battery in the engine bay, without any mods, easily.

I have 2 questions:
1. Would 60 DIN fit in Palio/Petra?
2. Would it not affect charging circuit and alternator?

Thanks.

DIN55 itself is little over size to be in Palio1.2 ELX battery bay..but can manage..I really doubt about DIN60 in that bay.

Exactly. I guess there was some discussion about this in paliousersindia yahoo group and the conclusion was the same.

Really? Recently I tried to fit an Amaron DIN55 in my Palio 1.2 ELX, but the guy after inspecting the battery bay said its impossible. I asked him if he could manage it somehow as some people said it could be done (referring to our guys in Team BHP). But he gave me a negative look. With no mood to argue and desperate to see my Palio back on road, I settled for a DIN45.

Does any one know the price of a DIN50 battery by Exide ? Got a quote of 7k+ while I'm sure I only paid around 5k for a DIN55 battery recently for my 1.6

DIN 50 Exide Battery costs exactly 6K according to the price list. A good dealer can bring it to about 5.5 and with the exchange of your old battery, you can claim another 500-700 bucks discount.

I went in for the Amaron DIN 50 battery which comes with the same 4 year warranty and is 400 bucks cheaper.

Hi,

After almost 4 years of usage the Amaron DIN 55 battery of FIAt Palio 1.2 ELX went dead. I am now in the market for a new battery for my car, preferably another AMARON. My local batterywala quotes Rs.5600/- for a DIN 55 4 yr warranty AMARON battery. He also suggested another brand called "BASE" a Panasonic company for Rs. 4700/- with 4 yrs warranty.

And there is another - AMCO with 1 yr warranty at Rs. 4100/-

Now I am confused which one to opt for.

Guys, your suggestions and recommendations please.

Cheers!
