thanks! yes the cherokee is a nice suv to drive. i had the pleasure of renting one a while ago. had fun in the snow.
unfortunately, this V8 is pretty quiet, unless you open the bonnet.

its a boon while parking in small spaces in the city.

most car manufacturer's here do not give a full-size spare. some do, while some give you an option to have a full-size spare at a higher price (our previous 2 Discoverys came with full-size spares factory fitted).

a part of it would be that tyre rotation is not as common a concept here as is in India. a person would generally get only 4 tyres rotated instead of 5.
also, might be partly due to the fact that a certain segment of cars here have different sized front and rear tires.

forget full-size spare tyres, a portion of people here do not know how to change a tyre in case of a puncture.

about the cam - i don't know if its available off dealer's in india but it shouldn't be too difficult to import one. however, i don't know whether it would work without the whole navigation setup. if it doesn't, then it wouldn't be worth spending a whole lot of money on something of which you'd be using only 1%. if it does, then its really helpful.

Those cars come with runflat tyres I think which is why the spare wheel is not needed.

Full size spares take up too much room in the luggage compartment. especially with today's ever growing wheel and tire sizes.
