Default OHC Spruce'd up. EDIT: Pics added!

Hey guys,
I just got my OHC Type I '98 1.3 EXI upgraded.
Here's what I is got in the car:

1> Pedders Suspension [I don't know which one]
2> Pipercross airfilter [foam]
3> Short Pipe Free Flow Exhaust.
4> 15" Lenso Alloys
5> 205/50R15 Yokohama S.Drive Rubber
6> Supremely dark tints on the car.[which i intend to change]
7> Whit Paint Job

But i have noticed that at high speeds [around 100 km/hr and above], the car gets very unstable, as in when i was driving down Marine Drive. I was thinking that because the road itself is messed up and I got stiffer [than stock] suspension, my car will follow the contours of the road.

On palm beach road the car was perfectly planted.

The steering also gets very jumpy, a friend told me that could happen because the offset of the alloys... also my power steering is much lighter than before [that got overhauled as well].

Other than that the car SCREAMS [when I go fast] which is a good thing

Pictures will come up in some time.. there is still some minor work left on the car

Congrats on the upgrade Sprucegoose . If your car is unstable at higher speeds, then i think the wheel balancing and alignment is at stake. Have these checked. Post some pics of your car and the upgrades done and also the cost involved.

Happy and safe driving .

Wow, congratulations! Where did you get it done from? Have you changed shocks, springs or both?

Hahahaha... nice one...

Mods please do the needfull

@Ankit:
Pics coming, roping in a friend of mine [graphic designer by profession] to take photos & the Photoshop it as well

@Pranavt :
1> got the car done by game over tuning.
2> Got an entire pedders kit. Shocks and Springs
3> Pricing i have no idea about the individual components.
4> Paid around 21000 for the Rims [set of 5] + 18800 for the tyres [set of 4].

5> I got a cell phone cam. If i get up pre 10am tomorrow i shall click snaps.
[my car is parked under a tree, when i usually get to it, its covered in bird s**t, don't want to click snaps then.]

6> Meet is happening... Lonavla trip...

7> About the instability, i don't think its a wheel balancing / tyre alignment problem. I ripped down palm beach road at about 140 and the ride was perfect. But on the reclamation flyover and marine drive when i hit speeds close to 140 in fact anything above 120, the steering gets VERY and i mean VERY peppy, I have to hold on with both my hands to make sure it stays in a straight line and i feel every bump in the road.

for the steering becoming very peppy a friend said that its probably the offset of the tyres. [alloys have a greater offset, so road force effects the steering more]. Plus I switched from bald 175/70R13 bridgestone S322 [I used to get wheel spin in 3rd gear] to 205/50R15 Yokohama S.Drive. So I think that is also why the steering is affected by the road surface.

and for every bump on the road i think its because of the pedders suspension. they are way stiffer than what i used to run on.[the old ones were quite messed up]. Now when i sit in the car it barely dips by a centimeter or so, but earlier it would go down by atleast an inch or so.

Are the dampers adjustable? I've done over 160 on the reclamation flyover with my setup and the ride was as planted as it could be. What's the exact name of the kit? Surely you can ask for the same from Game Over, it will help everyone here.

@di1in, Pipercross foam filter + SS intake pipe cost 6.8 with pukka bill from N1, Mumbai. Was around 6.1/2 without bill.

Ah. Finally some pics!

Quite a huge difference from a few months back :

From : http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/team-b...eb-2009-a.html (Report & Pics : BKC Meet - 1st Feb 2009)

This car (being a 1.3) is LOUUDDD near the redline and sounds really good as well.

The new suspension has definitely raised the ride height by an inch or two.

The new wheels/tyres and suspension should be fun to play with on that upcomming lonavla drive. Enjoy.
