Why do you want to replace the steering
Is it just steering or whole steering column

why you want to change the steering in first place, and the only best place to confirm is your hyundai authorised mechanic, which he said is not possible to do so.Is it steering or the whole column you want to change?

I think he said Steering wheel as for why well the i20 has got a really nice looking & feeling steering wheel so yes why not

Hmm since the A.S.S. guys have said no, I think you need to check the exact specs of these steering wheel & for these you may need access to Service Manuals of both Getz & i20

Doesn't the i20 steering come with a built-in airbag? In that case, don't even bother. I don't expect an i20 steering wheel to be cheap either.

A simpler steering upgrade for you would be to look at something from the after-market. Wide range in all styles & sizes.

IIRC, the i20 Asta's come with 2 airbags as standard or an optional 6 airbags.

The i20 Magna's come without airbags.

P.S.: Even if the i20's steering wheel come's with a built in airbag, even then the steering wheel and the airbag deployment / storage unit are sold separately. This is the reason for airbag deployment / storage units being stolen rampantly in the United States and the owners finding out about it only in the worst case scenario's (read: accidents).

The steering wheel in magna is same as the one in i10. Only asta has that great looking steering wheel with audio controls etc.

No the i20 steering wheel is different than i10. The only difference between Asta & Magna's SW is that Magna's doesnt have Audio Control & airbags.

PS: First of all sorry for restarting this old thread. i have the same doubt and found it inappropriate to start a new thread, so please forgive me! If mods feel it really shouldn't stay here, then please move to the correct location.

Hi,
Am looking for a solution to get steering wheel audio controls in my Getz. I don't want to install the after market remote control which is attached to steering. I love the steering wheel on Hyundai i20, and it has the Hyundai "H" on it, so wont look too odd. So can some one suggest me a way to fix i20 steering in to my getz? Will it be a straight fit?
My plan is to fix this steering wheel with audio control and use an adapter (steering wheel control interface)to connect the audio system in my car. My only worry is about the compatibility of steering wheels. If not this model, is there any other model compatible with Getz?
