doors:gull wings/scissors/butterfly/sucide?!

hey guys just conducting a little poll trying to see wether people prefer gull wings or scissors(lambo) or butterfly doors ??? considering the following factors :-
- absolute asthetics!!
- value for money and simplicity to fabricate!!
- practicality and simplicity to use!!

i love the lambo style doors but turn out to be to expensive due to the hinges !!
my next choice is the gull wings due to the 2nd point!!
while im not at al for the butterfly s!!they suck!!
i like sucide for the rear !!90degree opening doors!!

i think sicssors are more practical than normally opening doors as they recquire lesser space on both sides to open !! and i havent yet seen any parking spot where a sicssor door would not have space to open upwards!!!hence they are according to me the most practical doors!!

the gull wings are asthetically better than norm. dors but probably have no practical application!!but are also easier to fabricate over the very expensive to set up lambo type doors!!
what do you guys think??

hey guys y dont u post some pics of these different types of doors to let us get a good idea of the whole stuff..have seen the scissors and the butterflys but not prety sure have seen the gull wings tho..pls refresh my memory..

Gull wongs for me. The Benz 300 SL has me enraptured by it wings... totally spectacular... but you need the lines to carry them off... they'll look crappy on, lets say, a Lancer or a Honda, but amazing on a Jaguar or a Maserati...

Are Butterfly ones the doors on the McLaren F-1? I Adore those, but only on that car. Its THE ONLY car that can carry that one off with a stunning effect. As it is the car is a mond-blowing spectacle, and then the doors open like that, and BOOM!! Spell-binding effect.

hey dadudeonfire i dont think its as simple as that i know scissors are the in thing right now but !! i just want to see what people feel about the rest and wether they would settle for any other kind of doors due to economy or personal choice!!! and trust me the gull wings have their own class to them i personally adore them on th sl300!!!!

hey devarshi buddy.those are not the butterfly doors.those are just the suicide doors at the rear n the front is simple.butterfly doors have on pillar A n the doors actually opel like the wings of a butterfly.

but that is not a good kinda stuff to have coz in future u might have a problem of bent pillar A coz it has to carry the load of the whole door.

those are confirmed butterfly doors.here is the link. check for yourself. pillar or no pillar its the door we are talking about and the pillar is not affected as infact the rear door weight is now on c pillar.

Gull Wings all the way, baby!!! 300SL ALL THE WAY!!!!!!! NO, I personally think that if doors are to open sideways forever, the butterfly doors can change the way we look at our interior layout completely... but gull-wings are the COOLEST on the road. Waht do the McLaren F-1 Doors qualify as?? Gull-Scissors??!!
