Default Glaring error in your question Psycho.

Dear Psycho you have a glaring erro in your question about the 50,000mod that you have asked of us. The gear box only takes into consideration the twisting capacity or torque of the engine and not how much BHP it makes. It may make 1000hp for all we know but the gearbox is not going to break up as long as there is an oil film preventing the teeth from contacting each other. If you give me the torque values I could think of giving you a reply. Do remember that the load on a gearbox in the 1000bhp Bugatti Veyron and an ordinary 1000 bhp diesel shunting locomotive are not the same. Also do remember that our passenger train engines and goods train engine had to do away with gearboxes because they could not find gear teeth nor gearoils that could resist the high torques available from these behemoth engines at initial roll. Bye and wear your seatbelts

Yes I know, that was to trick the others into thinking that 220 BHp was the max they could go to... Also another point no one would launch at an BHP curve point where it is generating 220 bhp as they would just lose out on valuable time due to wheelspin.

And yes the breakage points on the tranny are calculated using Torque as the key measurement.
