The conical is difficult to maintain as well and you have to be extra careful of dust and especially water
Totally agree with you on that.

WIth the conical i have experienced better mileage and engine respone and best of all the conical comes cheaper then a stock replacement filter. Even i was very confused about the warranty but my dealer was fine with it.
