Actually, it would have been slightly better if the star were on the grille of a Tempo Trax, because at least that thing looks a bit like the G-Wagen.

( I think they actually used some parts of the G-wagen with permission from Merc but Im not sure. )

This was a very common mod in the south during the late 90s, on both Estates and Sierras. Some even used the original headlight and grille from the W124 Merc.

Mpower did you notice the HUGE scrub radius in the first pic and the excessive toe-out on turns in the second? Could it be due to the wheel offset?

AK, yes its the wheel offset. Those wheel bearings wont last too much longer.

The toe-out you see is the ackerman geometry. The wheel on the inside of a turn has to turn more than the outside. Also I notice a lot of castor...at least 8deg.

Yeah isnt it a bit too much...the ackermann, i mean?

Funny thing, I wanted to mention the excessive castor too...but on a power steering car there should be no problems...For example the Indica has two different castors for PS and non-PS cars...They use a differently oriented lower ball-joint for this...

If anyone made a mockery - its Tata themselves. This chap may have just done some ingenious badge re-engineering. But Tata had the nerve to xerox the front end of the then-Mercs onto its production cars.
