Default electric turbo...

Hey,
any of you guys have heard about an electric turbocharger??

dude, a turbocharger works on exhaust gases emitted from an IC engine, so an electric turbo would be basically an impossibility

Yes... but it does only a mild airflow(shows positive if you do it on a bench) which reduces as the requirement of the engine increases. A turbo charger can get you positive air pressures greater than 1 bar which in case of of an electrical turbo would not be possible as the car's engine would not be able to generate the elctricity required to do so. I guess if you search on the web you would find plenty of sites detailing out why it defies the law of physics.

Hey I was looking at Ebay.com (US site) and found quite a few. What appeals to me is that they dont require extensive work done and they say that they offer boost upto 20 psi. Now i know that theyre not goin to increase with revs.. but isnt it worth looking into?
