Lightbulb Optra Rims PCD and Offset help!

Can someone help me with the specification of Alloy Wheels for Optra 1.8LT.
I Figured it is 4 x 100 PCD and 40 mm offset but I am not sure. I am planning to import a set of 16" or 17" rims for the car along with 205/45 R16 or 205/40 R17's.
Can someone give me pricing indications of Rims and Tyres in Bombay and Delhi?
The prices in Chennai are Sky HIGH!!

205/40/R17 tires are definitely available a plenty in delhi. Silverstone/Falken (F1 pattern tires) are roughly around 6.5k a piece, not too sure about the other brands but i guess they are in the same vicinity.

17 inchers will ruin your ride quality alot! 16inch will look nice and give u more comfort, try and see if u can go higher on the profile that would make the ride better. Bombay has several shops that sell 16,17inchers a popular guy in santacruz is Saifee who has a pretty good collection and there r plenty all over town.Do post some pics with pricing after u r done....good luck.

My suggestion will be not to go beyong 15 inch wheels in case you would like to keep the ride comfort. with 15 inch wheels you can go for 195/55 R 15...believe me ..the grip will be more than sufficient.
16 inchers will reduce the ride comfort considerably and your backside may curse you on less than smooth roard. the car will develop rattles faster too and the suspension will require rework faster as well.
Of course if you do decide to go in for 16 inchers...ar 17 inchers..please post pics as I would live to enjoy the pic (as opposed to ..hic...the ride)

I was considering 16 inches actually. 15 is very common everywhere so I was looking for something better. As far as ride quality is concerned, its not too important for me. I am going to use this car only to drive to office and back home. No highway or rough road use.
Can someone indicate the pricing for 16 inch rims in Bombay and Delhi. If someone could give me contact numbers of dealers it would be sweet.

17 inch will be too much for an Optra to take. Above 15 is not recommended! Stick to 15 inchers. When shifting from 14 to 15 ride becomes bad. When you go 17 it will become worst. Optra is a luxury car and not a sports car!

Cheers

Thumbs up Optra 1.8LT modifications

Hey guys.... Thanks for the help.. I settled down for 16" rims and 205/45/R16 nankang tyres. Just bought them from Rana Tyres Delhi. Picked up Hard Chrome rims.
I will be fixing the rims the day after. Just finished fixing a free flow exhaust system from Hot Bits and K&N Filter. Will keep you guys updated with the pics soon.
Any other modification ideas? All ideas are welcome :-)

Thumbs up All the best

Hey iceman kimi please post pics of the 205/45/R16 nankang tyres.

What are these Nankang tyres? How much are they for?

What type of free flow did you put? Whats the noise in the cabin? Is it too loud? Which free flow did you put since stock replacement is not available for the Optra! What was the price of the filter and the free flow!

To boost performance you can port polish the engine. Add iridium sparks.

Cheers.

Cool

Hi busa!
The free flow kit I bought it from malaysia. Its made by one australian company called Hot Bits. Its too noisy and really powerful as of now. Planning to install one additional muffler to reduce the noise. The sound is really nice ... but its too loud for me. The free flow kit costed me 16k and i paid 4.5k for the K&N air filter which again I bought in malaysia. I got it from these freaks in malaysia called speedworks.
http://www.speedworks.com.my/
is their website address.
Nankang is one taiwanese company which makes performance tyres at affordable price. I paid a real good dealer price for the tyres and rims which I am not supposed to reveal. But my guess if you go to Rana Tyres he will sell it to you for 5k each. You can negotiate to around 4.8k.
For 16" alloys if you are going for hard chrome it costs 28k and for regular alloys it costs around 21k for a set of 5 rims.

I would not advice a free flow kit as my gas consumption has reduced very badly. The fuel guage reduces as the same speed at which my rpm meter shoots up :-)
Go for a tail end muffler from HKS and a K&N filter. Will give u a good grunt.

Thanx Iceman.

Man with the loud exhaust you surely are going to ruin the TNRS! LOL

Do you have a stock replacement filter or a Fuel injected performance one.

By the way did you sell of your stock 14inchers?

Please post pics of the tyres on the car.

Cheers.
