| BHPian | Finally managed to complete this DIY in 4 hrs flat today. Had purchased the LED strips from Ebay. There was bit of heartburn to cut the original wire of my Civic - I tapped the power from the parking lights so that it comes on when the park lights are switched on. Decided to fix the strip as an L shape on the lower side of the fog lamp. Used good quality Finolex wires and used connectors for connecting the wires. Overall I'm satisfied with the end result. Have a look at the photos |

| BHPian | looks good. i like the idea of using wire connectors instead of the using electric tape. |

| Good job done. Though I think red LED strip would look better in your car. |

| BHPian | Thanks all for the appreciation. I've not tried cutting the strip, but I guess it should be possible since you get strips 5 metres long as well. I've heard the common standard is that there is a provision to cut every 3 LED lengths. The one I bought did not have any markings for cutting. Quote:

| First, congratulations on a well executed job. The results are fab. But I guess you are better off solderring the wires and shrink wrapping them rather than using open wire connectors. Please do consider weather-proofing the connections. Over time the connectors will gather dust and grime which is the ideal recepe for a short circuit. If you are lucky you'd just escape with a blown fuse but things could get relly nasty. |
