That's good news. Any idea on the costs involved? Did you get your keys done?

The total should be around 2k. Yes I got mine done and it works beautifully. I picked up the flippy from ebay and got the key cut at Prakash. (I casually asked if they had any such keys and he showed me a similar key blank).

The benefit of the Honda City keys is that the sensor is built into the remote, so it is completely plug n play. All you need to do is get the key blank cut accordingly.

Pic attached for your ref.

Have sent you a PM, since am not sure if I am allowed to post vendor co-ordinates here. (this is anyway searchable on eBay.in)

Just ordered a Flip key for my Ertiga, seems to be a direct swap from old to new key and then machine cut the blank key according to the original .
Will try it out with one key and once successful, plan to order another one.
These look quite classy

Have performed a DIY on my Swift's key. Very easy and direct fit. Just make sure of two things:
1. While opening the key fob shell, exercise caution as the spring may jump out. It is a small spring and can be lost easily rendering the entire fob useless.

2. Secure the small chip close to the metal key side with some adhesive. If it gets dislocated from that proximity, the car wont start at all.

Regards

Thanks alot for the tips, I was wondering why the adhesive needs to be used while watching the video on how to transfer the contents of the key Fob. It seems we need to open the new key fob in a clockwise manner to stop the spring from popping out. Will try it out in the next 10 days as i am currently out of town. Hope the outcome is positive

Any luck with the flippy for your figo? I wanted to get 1 for my 2008 fiesta which I picked up a couple of months back. The car has a remote option(tried my friends remote key and it worked)
I've found many sellers online. Attached one below
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ford-...778330057.html
that is with the 4D60 chip. But I could find fobs with different chip configurations too ( 4d61, 62,63 etc)
Any idea which is the right transponder I should be looking at?

Howdy Keshav!

Did you get this done in Chennai? If yes, can you please let us know the location/shop in Chennai from where you got this done?

I've been thinking of getting this done for my Optra as well.
The regular key is a pain to keep in the pockets.

Thanks in advance! Cheers!

Hi Sourav9385

I didnt get it done from chennai . I couriered my spare key to the person in Delhi and he did everything and sent it back. The whole process took about 5 days including courier time. Let me know if your interested and I can give you the contact, hes pretty reliable and has given his services for a number of friends.

Thanks for the response Keshav! Much appreciated!

Please do share the contact information, if you can.

Does anyone know of a place in Chennai where this can be done? I'm quite sceptical about sending over my car keys to some one via courier.
