The drivetrain can fit will require modification of floor boards.
M&M has produced a variant for the M&M CLASSIC with the
1 -Scorpio Diesel Engine Turbo Intercooler et. al.
2- NGT530 4WD gearbox which is a modified Bolero G-box.

This vehicle was made for export this year and the prototype is being used by Mr. Alan Durante of M&M.

Should you want more information you know where to Look for......;-)

Default How about an OM616

Some of my friends have successfully transplanted a OM616 in SWB JEEPs
namely WILLYS MBs, CJ2A/3A and CJ3B with Crankcase modification.

But on a MM540 the Fit is better. Also it is recommended to use the M&M KMT-90 4Spd 4WD g-box

Thats why I posted in reply no.24

GTO : Well, I guess it is minutely possible but with a LOT of extensive modifications.
With extensive modifications, even a V8 engine will be possible (as many CJ3Bs around the world have successfully installed.) I am speaking more within realism / practicality, and within the scope of most Indian after market suppliers.

How about some more details on the Scorpio engine Classic? Pictures? Drive review?

My Cousin Wants to replace his Peugeot Engined Willys , I suggested him the 2000cc Isuzu Engine found in the Ambys/Contis but he wants to Keep the 4 wheel drive intact , other wise it defeats the whole purpose of the Jeep. So what say ? Can we keep the 4 X 4 running with the Isuzu engine , if not why ? What other engine can we get under 20K for a Transplant into this 65 Willy ?

If you are retaining the existing jeep 4x4 gear box you may be able to attain your 4x4. You just need to make sure that the engine you buy is able to connect properly with the 4x4 gear box. You also need to make sure that any part of the engine will hit the front differentials or the front drive shaft. Basically, if the engine you are installing does not interfere with the 4x4 set up, you an retain the 4x4 set up.

This engine requires certain mods to the existing Jeep.

For a mm540, the oil chamber needs to be cut
New engine mounts need to be fabricated
An adapter plate needs to be made to match with the mahindra gearbox.
New gearbox mounts are required.
Rear shaft needs to be altered

Incase of a low bonnet jeep , you have to cut short the air intake manifold.

Open the same image in a Microsoft paint and crop the size to 50% and then you would be able to reduce the size and can post here.
