Default palio 1.2 to 1.6 conversion

hi fellow team mates..

i was wondering if a palio 1.2L petrol car can be converted to have a 1.6L engine?

also, what all new stuff will be needed to do so.. i mean like the ecm, and other things needed to make the 1.6 engine work well..

The best thing to do would be to sell your 1.2. And then buy a 1.6. Chances are you wont even have to put in any money in the exchange, and end up with a proper factory fitted engine install.

hey, Agree totally with GTO !! You can easily get a 1.6 for about 2.2-2.4 .. so simply buy that instead of going about plonking a 1.6 engine in the 1.2 .

Cheers

I dont think such a thing is possible. The best thing to do is to trade your 1.2 with a 1.6 at a near by Fiat dealer as Fiat had started producing the 1.6 again. I am not sure if you would get good 1.6 specimens in the used car market now.

Depends On what mileage ur current Palio has ,

But I think it would easily set u back between 1.75 to 2.5 lakhs depedning on the dealer and your car

I'd keep an eye out for a nice used GTX and buy it, rather than plan on buying new (assuming Fiat ever gets around to manufacturing anything in India again, leave alone a GTX!).

I totally agree with Airfoil, its better to buy a second hand GTX rather than convert you're existing 1.2 to a 1.6
