| Hey i've got Red Grills and Nautilus both on my Optra. Put the Optra horn in my girlfriend's Zen cause she was getting pissed off at the ricks. The Stebel Horn is definitely the louder of the two, plus it gives that whole "freight train coming from behind" sound that really freaks people out. However, the tone of the Red Grills is awesome. Nice and shrill, and after about 2 seconds, it starts to eat into your brain. It's really irritating, so works damn well on most people. Then of course, there are those special cases when I use both horns at the same time. The results can be...very interesting. You have to make sure the horn's are installed properly for maximum effect. Make sure your electrician is using nice, thick guage wires, and the horns are not obstructed in any way once you close the bonnet. Also, please guys, it can be lots of fun, but don't cause unneccessary sound pollution or screw up someone's hearing for no good reason. Only use these horns when you don't have a choice. |

| Senior - BHPian | What is your horn setup ? Are you still sticking to the punky OEM horns ? I'm having a pair of Roots Vibrasonic horn with a Roots melody maker. Horns - Rs.850 Melody maker - Rs.350 Always dreamt of a musical air horn setup but dropped out the plan since it's illegal. Note from the Team-BHP Support Staff: Threads Merged. Continue discussion here.

| BHPian | Stock But never the less interesting topic. Well, Yesterday I saw a pair of Hella for 1000 bucks. I asked the guy how they fit it. But that was not exciting. Next week I am planning to buy it and fit it myself. Need to find where are the horns ![]()

| Had been sticking to the stock horn on my Zen for the past 3 years that we've owned her. It was completely useless at highway speeds, but was too lazy to change it. One fine day it went kaput, so replaced it with something more effective. A pair of Roots Megasonic - 1300/- approximately including installation charges. No melody for me though. Now everybody gives way. Not that I misuse it. I honk only when it's absolutely unavoidable, cos I am the kind who gets irritated when somebody honks from behind me!
