As long as you use a relay and give the horn it's own circuit from the battery, you'll be fine.

You lifted a weight from my heart.
Yesterday I took my car to MASS and all the mechanics there said that fitting more than one horn and too many lights may reduce the life of the ECU/ECM abruptly.

What if one fixed a relay from the stock horn wiring to a set of bigger horns? I suppose that would work as well?

ask them to give it in writing. then mail the same copy to MUL and ask them to verify it. also ask them how does this technically happen

It took weight off all parts of body mate..and my eyes went, imagine plugging off all my lighting mods that went into my drive. Guess the guys at MASS need a trip to MARS soon.

That's what you do usually. The stock horn wiring goes to the relay. The relay's points are connected to the battery and the new horn. A relay basically shifts the load from the horn pad to the heavy duty plates inside itself.

I have purchased roots vibrosonic along with roots melody maker cum relay today. Horns costed rs 850 and Rs 150 for roots 7 in 1 melody maker. Am i ripped off for the price of horns.
In the website vibrosonic they have mentioned as 4A 425 ad 505 hz 110dBA. But in the carton its mentioned as 3.5A 325 and 400 hz 120dBA. I think its okay for motorcycle. Sound rings right inside the head when i tested it out. My wife didnt close her ears got one shock of her lifetime
Tried for stebel in several shops in gp road but couldnt able to find it.
Initially i planned to use switch been OE horns and with Roots. But in pulsar i cant place 4 horns. It will be the treat for cops to catch me and mint.

I planned to use only one horn for the city and both the horns with the help of toggle switch connected to second relay. Is this setup is fine.

I purchased the vibrosonic for the same price of Rs.850 on GP road. Initially I wasn't sure about the price since Xenos galleria quoted Rs.675 but didn't have stock.Later when I got it installed at Mylapore I was told that it was the right price and that inside the city it was retailing at Rs.945.

edit : The specs you posted look similar to the Vibromax listed on the roots website. How is the melody maker ?

Thanks. I am not bummed then. Yes, it looks like vibromax spec. But the carton mentions 3.5A and so the stampings in the horn. This made me to believe the specs are right. Perhaps they would have changed the frequency for the vibrosonic. The hella red grill used the very same freq 425, 505 hz.
Melody maker is from roots, got for Rs 150. Max current not to exceed 4A for each horn. Just ask for roots 7 in 1 melody maker. I specifically bought roots for highway use. Without melody maker its pretty useless for highway usage.I really loved the way vibro sounds. Its like sound ringing inside my head for 5 mins after some quick short bursts

Edit: I really loved the sheer size of megasonic. Way way bigger than vibrosonic. Really itching to use for my diesel bullet. My bull doesnt need horns just blip the throttle everyone will scare away coz it has free flow exhaust :-) The horn i choose must sound larger than this diesel racket. Megasonic fits the bill. I forgot to enquire the cost. Can anybody tell about the cost of Mega

Lightbulb roots MEGASONIC

hi guys,

i have installed a pair of MEGASONIC from roots in our new bolero.
its grand daddy of all the power horns available.

initially my father was against any big/loud horns but after trying to get way trough 150s,180s, passions & splenders (all fitted with M-sonic's).
he fed up & literally ordered me to install loudest horn possible.

so went to local accessories shop & bought them (around 1600 with fitting).

nikhil.

compare with vibro mini

vijaycool : You bought the melody maker for your bike or for your 4-wheeler ?

If my memory is correct, I don't think that the melody maker for cars are not available for Rs.150.
