Thank you. I got it from motmall, opposite to YMCA grounds. They also had stebel nautilus (two pieces in stock now). In GP road, I did not find in places where I enquired.

Got a pair of red grills for my father's car but I think he found them louder than what he would have liked. So folks, is there any horn that has a similar tone but is just slightly less loud?

Please suggest.

Try hella silver horn (not europa silver). They are not as loud as redgrill, but loud enough.
I am attaching a pic for reference.

However it is actually not very shrill. Its kind of a muffled and not-so-loud 'pom-pom-ish' output. It used to be fine until recently, but nowadays it sounds like its got a very bad sore throat. When I tried to test it today, all I got was a low gargling noise, and it did not work. I think it is dying, or its probably because of the ageing Amaron battery which is more than six years old (07/05)!
May the horn RIP! Please perform a proper funeral/burial for that! That could damage people's ability to hear :(

the two blower horns are still bearable (not when pressed continuously) but the three blower one's are a killer.

t-bhpians should not be going for such stuff.

No offense meant to you sir!

Thanks a lot mate, & I would like to mention that I have these very same horns on my Alto as well. I like the sound, which is not as shrill as that of red grills. However, my father does not seem to like it since he prefers a shrill sounding horn & that's why I got the red grills for him.

Is there any other horn that you are aware of, which is as shrill or pitched as the red grill but just slightly less loud?

Hm.. if he does not like both, try Roots vibrasonic range or even the cleartone. I think Megasonic will be overkill sinc ehe do not like horns as loud as RedGrill.

Another equipment I have to retaliate to rash drivers is a button activated exhaust flame thrower which will shoot a two feet long flame from the exhaust.

Please Please Please let me know the excat name/ availablility/ pic of these. I would love to install this!

Panky bhai - for the wolf horn - just visit Mayapuri and ask for Suresh Khanna's shop. He will have the wolf horn, dog horn, you name it.

But don't ask for the flame thrower, that isn't available.

Both the above gadgets are illegal for street use.

Respected brothers , I have a very strange problem with the horns of my Alto K10.
The original horn given by Maruti is actually a scooty horn ,I purchased two sets of hella silver coloured twin horns @ 550/- each set,one for my Alto and other for my sons bike.

Now both vehicles were fixed with new horns same day.In my sons bike the sound of the horn was full blast, but in my Alto it was just 55% as compared to the bike. My electrician told me to fix electronic cutout to improve the sound , it was done promptly but again improved by just 5%.
My electrician immediately removed the horns from Alto and fixed it to the bike to test, the same horns on the bike were again sounding with full blast, and vice versa with sound. My electrician is fed up and says he cannot do any thing more.
Can any of our gurus help me in this problem.

VeerJi,

The difference in sound can be because of:

1. cheaper / duplicate quality of the cutout used in Alto.
2. Wiring connections are not proper at the cutout terminals

I hope that the horns are not touching the Alto's body and have been fixed at appropriate position in Alto. And the electrician has tested the Alto horns in the open also.

Cheers!

Am not sure sir. Am not a resident of Delhi. All I know is it's Mayapuri phase 2. When you reach phase two.. Watch your left and you cannot miss an outlet displaying tashan jeeps. Ask him for suresh khanna's shop he will direct you.

I hope you got the info for the wolf horn. As for the flame thrower, just google "Santro flame thrower". It will show my youtube videos.

I had replaced the Punto OE horns with Roots windtone 2 weeks back. We didnt use a relay to connect it. It was working fine till yesterday, but suddenly stopped working. I have given the car to TASC today for servicing and mentioned this. The SA now called up and said the fuse is getting blown off after replacing when they try to honk.
What could be the reason - Wiring or lack of relay?. Wiring looked fine to me that day. The fuse is of 15A. What can be the possible issue?
