| ![]() My friend is using Petro-Canada Semi-Synthetic. He told me to use that. According to him they are good and it uses synthetic base oil for the Synthetic Blend Oil. Quote:

BHPian | ![]() the synthetic oils from total have been gaining quite a reputation on the global scene and they are now available in india. this is surely a must try. Also check with manufacturer. i am using agip semi synthetic in my uno 15W40, and i can honestly feel a much smoother acceleration after switching to it, the engine feels a lot more energetic. this has been observed only after about 2 changes. long run synthetic is better. my honest suggestion is use any regular mineral oil and change it every 5K kms. this should be more than enough. |

| ![]() ^^^No reason why you can't go for fully synth if your engine is in good shape and you want to spend the $. Any special reason why you want to use 5W50? It will be too thick for most modern cars. |

Team-BHP Support ![]() | ![]() Nope, an engine flush is useful to remove dirt / deposits from the engine as well. Even when using the exact same type of oil! |
