Ideally your upsize should be 195/50 R15, but 195/55 will do just fine. With 195/55, your GC will increase by about a quarter of an inch, or a little over 6 mm.

Default Best tyres for Esteem ?

My Esteem currently runs on 155/80 R13, was recommended 175/70 R13 or 185/65 R13. My question is, already my car scraps the bottom on speed breakers , will it get worst with the other recommended tyres ??? Should I just stick to 155/80 ?

Also, can I stick to --/80 R13s and increase just the tyre width from 155 to 165 or even 175 ? Since I heard 175/70 does not foul the tyre well.

Need to take a decision asap so please help,

Thanks in advance.

With 175/70-13 and 185/65-13 your esteem's GC will reduce by 2mm and 4mm respectively.

Thanks kpzen, what about if I stick with --/80 and increase width, does the logic hold true if 175/70 doesn't foul tyre well, then 175/80 shouldn't either ? Next question being is 175/80 R13 available in any brand of tyres in India ??

175/80/13 is a very wrong upsize for the Esteem. Ideal upsize is 175/70/13, all new Esteems came with this size.

Look at the excel sheet in the second post, krazy driver. That ought to have recommended upsizes for the 800.
