Don't know if this was the case in Jalsa's car. But in my C220, if I hit a bump really hard (say, you miss a speed breaker at speed), the doors will automatically unlock & the wiper activates for about 30 seconds or so. Because the doors unlock (and they are supposed to in an accident) I'm inclined to think this is some kind of safety feature from the Germans. I've noticed this not once, but a couple of times in the last 6 years. Anytime that there is a strong impact against the road, the doors unlock & the wipers activate.

They sure are! Its hard to find a single car there without alloys, stickers, racing seats or bumping ICE.

What lap was this on?

- The force of the impact shifts the wipers up the windshield
or
- The drivers hand, or the force of the impact moves the wiper stalk - activating the wipers

How much of a variation is there between driver to driver when it comes to the tyre pressure and the ARB settings?

Its actually the later

Not much actually. It helps more towards adapting the car to your driving style. Negligible difference in the lap-times are observed though.

Jalsa, fantastic report and it's great to live vicariously through your experiences. Must say you have a knack for the written word- that was a nice taut rundown of things as they went down!

Good luck and do keep racing (and writing)

Congratulations on your win. Hope that you wouldnt let go of this passion and continue to make us and India feel proud

Mishaps are never good for the obvious reasons. Besides the obvious, they shake the confidence of the driver, but it was fortunate that you came out unhurt. Hope you and your family have took it in good spirits and will continue pursuing the races.

i have noticed this in my Fluidic Verna too. happened 3 times so far, all when i missed speed breakers (two of those are the same speed breaker, dumb me!!) the wiper starts. I thought i had switched the viper on with my fingers inadvertently. dont you think you did it also? sure it is automatic?

if its automatic, your wiper switch (or leaver) shouldnt be in the on position when this happens, right? it should be in the off position.
