| It is disheartening to learn that FIA has decided to have one tyre supplier from next season. That means only Bridgestone is going to supply tyres and Michellin is out. I can understand Michellin when is decided to withdraw itself from this sport which some how has lost what it stood for... "The Pinnacle of technology in motor-racing"! We've seen the domination of Ferrari with Bridgestone in the past and FIA has been playing the tyre rules for the last two years. 2005 provided some fresh and classics like Suzuka and a new champ and this year so far seems to be a fair game between Renault and Ferrari. Now that things are looking better than 2000-2004 seasons, why change the rule again? This change only seems to favor Ferrari as they are the only team which has enough data about Bridgestone and will benefit no matter what FIA decides. Somehow FIA does not like Ferrari loose? |

| actually FIA always acts funny & its turning the pinnacle of motorsports into a more regular category. they are cutting down the gap between F1 & ny other regular championship. first 2.4 litre rule, then single tyre supplier & cost cutting etc. if u have 2 work on a budgeted fund then rather run ur regular car. technology gets breaking grounds with lot of funding also, now i m not saying without money there can b no technological breakthru but u have to let things find new ways of development which is accelerated with the funds. at current pace i m sure the FIA will doom the F1 in the coming years. |

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | Actually i'm glad it is so. Using the same tyres will get the cars closer to each other, in terms of performance. Gone are the days when Alonso and Kimi could afford to go flat out from lap one. Let them try that next year, they'l end up in deep sh*t. BS tyres don't have the initial grip that the Michelins provide but they work better in the long run. This will keep them drivers at the edge of their seats. PS : They should scrap TCS also. Why do race drivers need TCS? Moreover, this will bring out the real talent in them. Let the drivers control the cars for a change (and not the other way around). Shan2nu

| Maybe it will be closer when all the teams which are running Michellin today would have spent two/three years learning to use the BS tyres. Till then Ferrari would've gone on to win all the races and also collect more data than the other teams and still have the adv. So it is going to be a while before the everyone is goign to be on the same level in terms of tyre performance! |

| BANNED | This is not some 'CONSPIRACY' to see Ferrari on top again.. what most people don't realise is that Formula One is more of a BUSINESS, and this is a business based decision by Michelin.. So all you conspiracy theorist's put that in your pipe n smoke it... or wait a minute.. smoking's bad for you.. but if you think this way in the first place.. PUFF AWAY. Cheers |

| Michellin decision was based on the the decision by FIA to have only one supplier. Michellin would have benefitted interms of business if they were to be the sole tyre supplier. But they didn't take it and thats the difference... coz it is not all business. It is also about improving and being at the top in terms of technical advancement and competition. I would've still argued against this one tyre supplier rule even if was Michellin to get it as it would not be fair for Ferrari or other BS shod teams. |
