Airstrip! Airstrip! Airstrip! Any airstrip in and around Mumbai will do. Please please, can someone talk to the organisers.

Feb, Yipee! My exams don't get over till 7th of Jan (from 3rd Dec :sigh: ) They could get it back to Bandra you know. Or the airstrip for private planes in Juhu, Pavan Hans is always empty

Sounds awesome, but i think that it is difficult to get permission for a bunch of rubbish reasons (as always).

THIS is where we need support from big players (Tata, Mahindra, Mallya etc) to get permissions approved and help promote motorsport events like these in India. However im also sure that none of them are too keen to deal with the morons doing donuts and toppling their cars over in the parking area.

only way to get Juhu airport would be to have ONGC sponsor the Drag lol! That airport is only used for choppers, but yet, they say they require the entire runway to land the darn things!

that is beacuse those bloddy choppers are huge..i have seen em up close and i nevere knew choppers would be soo big..

its usually Feb.
the problem is also that the org cant get assurance from customs that last years debacle wont be repeated.
i've heared that becuase of this illegal & not publised events do take place.(bit like the free -techno -party scene in the UK)

first lets pray that the event takes place in MUMBAI,,then go for some other places,,as per my knowledge, mumbai speed run will be in feb,,than the organisers will think for Chennai or Hyderabad..Bangalore is next to impossible,no idea about Delhi

The cops in bangalore are calling any accident in bangalore as Unorganised Drag racing and so they are not permitting them for an organised one...sob sob
I still miss hearing all those speed freaks and the sounds in Jakkur Aerodrome

No,its the politaical capital.It cant be seen to be having fun.
No late nites, no racing, no public affection... right?
Maybe after the F1 event the authoraties might change.

actually maddy, the mumbai speed run '07 was held already somewhere in mid feb (dont remember the dates) @ khargar,mumbai

Was held in Mumbai & raided by customs so most of the quick machinery had to disappear.How could you not remember that?There was a big hullabaloo
