Mclaren Appeal Rejected-Kimi 2007 WDC

The FIA's International Court of Appeal has rejected McLaren's case over the fuel temperatures of the BMW and Williams cars in last month's Brazilian Grand Prix.
After a day of deliberation, having heard all sides yesterday in a London location, the ICA said the results of the Interlagos race will remain unchanged, confirming Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen as the 2007 world champion.
The governing body said in a statement the case was rejected because McLaren's appeal is inadmissable.

Why is McLaren so desparate? They put up a good show this year and lost the title by like 1 point. Once you are at that level, the title is just a piece of paper.

Absolutely... McLaren are not some crappy team. They've had their great moments. This year would've been one of the best for them but for all the nonsense that happened.
They have a great car... good driver (hope they get some one good to fill the other spot) and all they have to do is work harder and beat Ferrari next season.

F1 doesn't work like that,the WDC is the ultimate prize,there are no prizes for coming second.You lose the WDC and you have failed.This is not like an exam when u get applauded for getting good marks.Also let me tell you,Hamilton make not get a shot at the WDC next year or for 2 years,F1 is too unpredictable to tell that he will win it next year with some more hardwork.You need to have Luck,a good machine and a good driver.

Not only did Mclaren lose their WCC,the lost the WDC that they should have had in the bag in China.They lost it because they and their driver were too overconfident.They are desperate because this WDC would have been ultimate glory for Hamilton,if get a poor car next year he will see the real face of the British press.

Good Decision by FIA. Mclaren is earning a bad name with such cheap stunts.

Kimi Deserved it. It was all in the points... taking it away from him after such a brilliant season would have meant and serious dip in F1 viewership esp from Tifosi....

Everyone is so against McLaren this year. The FIA or the WMSC has still not been able to find one thing on the McLaren which is Ferrari... but still the whole world goes about blaming them as if they are the only ones who cheat in this sport.

What everyone seems to be very comfortable about is the way this sport is governed . And when McLaren raise the issue they get criticized.
The facts that are present today are the same as what was found at the end of the Brazilian GP. Why then drag it all the way here and then say there is no case? Doesn't that seem absurd in the way FIA is dealing with the rules and the sport.
The sport is filled with dirty stuff... everyone should clean up... and it is high time McLaren alone gets treated like **** by the FIA. They are as important as Ferrari is to the sport and the personal battles should not make this team (or any team) to be treated like this in the open... for the sake of the sport!

They were found guilty of having Ferrari info and lying about it.No company is stupid to use the same design.They get the benefit of others research and build their better system while saving substantial development time.Thats what it is about.

Secondly the cool fuel issue was a attempt of opportunism,there was no way to prove that the fuel was 15C below the ambient temp while in the car.That's why the offending cars were let off.Here also they tried to fool the public by saying they were seeking rule clarification,while the real fact was they wanted a disqualification as stated by their lawyer.The reason the ICA bunked the appeal because they did not want to get into if's and but's and more questions than answers.

1. Article 6.5.4 of the FIA Technical Regulations states that no fuel onboard the car may be more than 10C below ambient temperature.
2. There is no specified source for the ambient temperature measurement, and there is no homologated and sealed sensor for measuring fuel temperature either in the fuel rigs or on-board the cars.
3. Meteo France, who provide official temperature measurements for the FIA and Formula One teams, recorded a maximum ambient temperature during the Brazilian GP of 33C.
4. The lowest temperatures recorded by Williams’ precise on-board sensors in the fuel tank and in the fuel injection rail on either of its cars during the Grand Prix were 31C and 35C respectively.
5. Consequently, as the Stewards found, there was no breach of the regulations.
6. All of the preceding points are consistent with all of the clarifications and opinions related to fuel temperatures expressed in Team Managers’ Meetings and other such forums. The views offered in these meetings fully support Williams’ case as presented to the FIA ICA.

No driver has ever been lifted off the track by a crane and allowed to continue.Its not that Hamilton was part of a huge accident for no fault of his own.What do you have to say about that ?

Its a wrong notion that FIA sides with the Ferrari.First the FIA is a sporting body that controls all motorsports and not some F1 body.The FOM changed the rules so many times to just stop Michael from winning.

Anyone who has sufficient knowledge about F1 will know that it takes more than just a few weeks to incorporate new designs on cars. And the timing of when the info was passed from Stepney to Mike was at a time when the season had almost started. So let us stop saying that the McLaren's performance this season is because of the 780 page document!

McLaren were not the folks who found this... The council could've refused to hear the appeal if they knew there was no case. If there was no way to prove this then why have a rule in the book and go about saying that it can't be proven. There are past cases where things have been different.

Have to say nothing cause no one said anything when schumi was pushed out of the gravel trap... No one complained... If Hamilton was lifted with a crane, maybe other teams should have complained and they didn't. So why are you asking this question?

FIA has also done many things which point to a Ferrari bias. So let us not get into those details.

The question here is about consistency in applying rules. A governing body cannot apply rules differently for the same issue.
FIA is a body that controls all motor sports.... which means they have to be more responsible and should do the right thing... it is their job!

Madhav - Whether Mclarens performance is because of Ferraris documents or not, there was intention to cheat and thats enough.

No,Michael was pushed out because his car was in a dangerous position,half on the track and half in the gravel.There is a rule which allows Marshals to push out the car if they consider it is in a dangerous position for other cars on the track,as was the case with Hamilton in China,but that car was well and truly stuck.
