Hey guys check this out. Metallica is going to perform in New Delhi in F1 rocks. I just hope they don't post me far away from the grandstand as Marshal. I don't want to miss this either :(

Farhan also mentioned that IF Metallica perform...then they will try and get all Marshals passes to the concert. No promises...best effort.

That is good enough for me!

I drove to B'lore for the induction. (Black Tshirt with Indian Elephant print)

It was good to meet Farhan.

Could not meet up with any TBHPians because i had to drive back as soon as the induction was over. Remember seeing a Wine Red Santro with TBHP sticker.

Was surprised to see some girls also interested in Marshalling.

Not sure if everyone got to see the news today. There was protest by Greater noida farmers (due to land acquisition) which turned ugly.

News in TOI: "We have already alerted farmers from many villages. More than 10,000 farmers will reach the F1 track on Saturday and dig it up. If the administration tries to disrupt our movement on Saturday, we will reply with bullets," Taiwatiya had said."

Quoting TOI and ET:

Lets hope no harm is done to the track. Sid

I think we should be more worried about the bullets and hostages part than the track in this case!

I became a member too late to take full advantage of this opportunity. And I envy you guys. However there is always next year and the year after and so on. I started into F1 relatively recently but have loved it ever since. Now every race weekend is a must stay home or to a sports bar weekend.

Please keep this thread updated with your training and orientation etc. so that those of us who are keen to be part of it someday might learn a thing or two.

i visited the track with a friend and thanks to Jaypee group, got the opportunity to be driven from turns 8 to the entry of start/finish straight. The pit buildings and grandstands are still structures, the roof of the grandstand is starting to take shape now. (not sure if i am allowed to post pictures of the track here - mods, pls let me know). Its already May and i am starting to get a little worried as the moment rainy season sets in, it would be impossible to work on the tarmac and the outsides of the buildings. Lets hope it will all be done.

@Mods, @GTO, any idea if we would be allowed to visit track in june as well or will they close it for public at that time.

Please do! We're extremely keen to know the current status of the track. It'd be great if you can upload the pics to this thread. Thanks!

When did they say we'd hear about the next round of trainings? Did they say early May or early June? I was expecting a communication from IMMC by now.

They said early June; we should have communication regarding which area we've been designated to. Training should start by July.

Yeah, I read that in the newspapers today. Nothing confirmed yet. But, is there a bright side to it? With regards to the marshals that were supposed to be coming here instead of Bahrain. Does that mean that we have more "seats" to fill in?
